take $900 off your offer.
There's definitely an oversupply of houses out there that might be far more worthy of consideration as well.
Bingo: the difference between a leader and merely someone with a “position” can be described exactly that way.
Liberals are hypocrites, surely you jest?
Buy the house, sue them for damages.
Surprising? No

Tell them to piss off unless they cover half.
We did that back in 2000 for cracked bricks. They covered it.
Offer them $1500 less. Tell them that will cover the cost ($900) and the hassle to take care of it.
“we discovered that the home has high levels of radon which need to be mitigated”
It takes a real liberal to buy into the Radon hoax.
Make them fix the radon, lower your price, or tell them to stuff it.
That’s because the $900 is their money not the taxpayer’s.
Surprised you’re willing to pay for it in this market.
Wait, on second thought, the radon might explain their liberal tendencies ;-)
If it was me, I’d string them along, waste their time, ask for reinspection of Termites if after 30 days from their inspection letter, ask them to provide certified proof all taxes are paid, provide any lien-waivers from work occurring on the home in the last 7 years, require proof of all utilities that they are current, etc. Then after they provide that, reduce the offer by $900 citing the problem....and then drop them from my memory....
Find another house. It appears that not only are you dealing with @ssholes, but they seem to be blissfully unaware that the policies they support have created a buyers market. Educate them!
900 bucks? You can’t get anything of substance done in the US for 900 dollars these days.
Also, the house will forever be linked to having a radon problem.
Unless you have your heart set on that particular house (and it is a screaming deal) just find another house. It is the best buyer’s market in 75 years!
Sounds like the home currently has high levels of brain-dead too. That will be mitigated when they move out ;)
Gee. Wait till they need the approval of a Federal bureaucratic inspector in order to sell it. He’ll have to check all their windows & doors for air leakage and they have to fix them BEFORE they can sell the house. Oh...and his inspection will also include the appliances. IF any don’t meet the current energy conservation criteria, they’ll have to be upgraded too....all at their expense and before they can sell the house. (read the cap & trade debacle and weep).
I wonder how all that hopey/changey thingy will work for em then???
How much will it cost to have a psychic come in to remove all the bad vibes left over from the Obamania of the previous occupants?
