Okay...if I'm off-base, then flame me. But DH and I are fuming this evening to come home from work to learn that Fox News spent the 6-7 PM NEWS hour with Shep Smith crying over Michael Jackson. UN-FRICKIN-BELIEVABLE! There is so much crap going on in this country, the world, the economy, 10% unemployment, Congress/Obama getting ready to shove cap-n-trade down our throats, he and the big-she having a laeuiu at the Whie House...what in the hell is going on! The whole damn world is in fire! I'm so ticked off to not hear the Bret Baer news hour....what a frickin joke on the part of Fox News! And they want to be taken seriously?! Geesh! Enough already!
He's dead, who cares? People die, that's it, nothing more. (yes, I do believe in salvation and life with my Lord, when I go home)
I for one never ever liked that freak, and will not miss him.
NBC was going too, but it is up to them to air it..
Whoreldo now....
Well, I hope you’re counting this thread amongst that 8 threads...I’d like to think that this is the anti-Michael Jackson/fed-up-with-all-the-media-coverage thread!
Shep lives for this kind of story. I usually like following the MJ circus, but this one is too sad. I turned the tv off awhile ago.
I’m sorry... I meant to say that I hope you’re NOT counting this thread amongst the other ones giving disgusting homage to that freak M. Jackson!
sw
And I do miss Britt Hume in the anchor chair.
Disgusting 24/7....they've been nonstop since 5PM....and they'll still be at it tomorrow morning.
...Jackson was a talented young man in the 80's....
..but morphed into a strange unworldly thing later...
...why is he getting so much coverage.....
..this surely reflects our warped society.
And ‘Burn Notice’ has a new show tonight!
Oh sure, ruin my theory. :-/
I’ve sent off an e-mail to Fox and also a phone message. I told them how disgusted I was with their coverage and that lately they have raised my ire on other points.
Tomorrow I plan to follow-up with another e-mail and phone call.
I hope some of you do the same.
I’m with you, 8 is enough and yes it was in the count.
Have you forgotten that news is a business?
So, which conspiracy theory will crop up first?
That the Dems killed him to keep public attention from Cap and Trade, or that the Republicans killed him to take attention off Mark Sanford?
And what’s this I hear about Jeff Goldblum falling to his death in New Zealand this morning?
I’m a huge Fox News fan but tonite is way over the top for me. There are so many important things happening to our country right now that covering the Jackson story to this extent is simply not being responsible as a news organization. However I’ve decided to listen to some Michael music instead of watching Fox tonite. That would be my iPod and MICHAEL MCDONALD, now that’s some good tunes.
With all that is happening to our country right now, it is hard to believe that this story is more important than the direction our country is going in or maybe this is the direction we’re going.
But there are icons that transcend ... and like it or not, Michael Jackson was one of them....I intend to turn off my TV as well.. but I understand it. This afternoon, I got calls from 6 people I haven’t spoken to in a long time asking me if I had “heard the news.” Very weird... Music, pop culture and death. All common denominators that bring us together or tear us apart.
MaryJean..honestly, what do you expect? It’s a big story.
Congress is about to stick a knife into this country’s major artery tomorrow; and everyone is slobbering over a dead pedophile.
