HEMET, Calif. (CBS) ―
Size really doesn't matter, as a trio of Chihuahuas proved by cornering a full-grown, adult mountain lion in their owner's garage.
Ana Lee Spray of Sage, near Hemet, heard her three Chihuahuas barking in her garage and went to check out commotion. Spray was surprised to see the massive, angry cat hissing at her and her dogs and immediately took her pets inside.
Spray called 911 and officers from the Department of Fish and Game tranquilized the mountain lion. The big cat had to be tranquilized again after running from the garage.
They don’t look happy either! LOL!
They kind of like not having to fight anymore, too.
When we moved down to South CA, our indoor/outdoor kitties became indoor only due to coyotes. Our gray Tabby, who used to fight (had that little piece of ear missing!), seemed so relieved that he never even tried to bolt through an opening door.
They are adorable! I’m still laughing about your fish net comment!
Hasn't anyone on this thread seen Beverly Hills Chihuahua? ;>)

The answer is in the grammar.
Dogs don’t know from size.
I had a wired-haired fox terrier that took on a hugh rottie. The rottie broke my dog’s hip, and tried to bite his head off, but the blood that was covering Jocko was not his ~~ and he was soaked in it. I never saw the rottie, but I think he must have gotten the worst of the deal.
It was THEIR habitat before it was "ours" and we need to respect that. We are not all-powerful, and history has shown we do more damage to the envionment as a species than any other.
I'm speaking mostly of "white man." The indigenous population recognized that they were stewards of the land and could not understand how a white man could "own" it.
One needs to realize that man has been encroaching on wild habitat since we came to this country. The animals don't understand that. When their natural prey is decimated, they will eat what's available.
No disrespect intended Monkey Face but ...............
The indigenous population also accepted rape of young girls and torture of different tribes until death as common and acceptable practices.
They were not noble in much any way, didn’t have many of the virtues of “white man” and were “stewards” of nothing. They didn’t do more damage to the land as that would have required work other than hunting and fishing which we consider a pleasant pastime. I am part “indigenous population” and hate the 7 to 6 grind as much as they would have but I do it and oppose rape and real torture too.
They would have done some “encroaching on wild habitats” if they could have mastered the wheel as every other culture did.
I, too, am part of the indigenous population.
Not all tribes and clans accepted rape of young girls, and Indians were not alone in that concept; and as for torture, I’m sure there was a lot of it around the world.
Please remember that the wheel had nothing to do with birthrate mortality.
Both
I dont know about that, this one would give a puma a run for its money...
A pit would have a better chance than three chihuahuas. As I posted earlier little dogs aren’t so tough and a puma considers little dogs and cats food not threats.
At the Compound my pit, min pins and Pomeranian would alert me as I am the one with the guns.
Kitty would have died.
Pretty much what you can depend on them to do, as long as they are behind a barrier where they can detect, without being accessed, such as in the house.
Then it is up to the mifwic to stop the threat.
Our remaining jrt "thinks" he is bad shiite, but he does have a keen sense of hearing still, and a very loud alarm bark.
Unless he hears the yotes, then he stays on the bed and growls a lot!
It was not "their" habitat before we encroached on it...If a bigger and stronger bear (for instance) came into another bears territory and fought, whoever was the strongest became the "Owner" of the property as the weaker one was either killed or run off the territory.
..Nature in not some sweet little old lady, she sometimes is a bitch...
I will not give up my right to live on this earth to some other creature that has the potential to kill my loved ones..That straw man of "we are encroaching on their habitat" doesn't work with me anymore...
If man is the equivilant of a bigger and stronger bear, they can damn well leave our territory..
So I guess we have to just agree to disagree..
That dog has more muscles than Arnold Schwartznegger...But doesn’t have his wrinkles (as Arny wrinkles as he grown older)
You are absolutely right. I knew a man that had a St. Bernard and a chihuahua as pets. His house was broken into one day. The robber was surprised to see the big dog; but the dog didn’t do anything but lay down before robbing the house. He never saw the chihuahua coming. That little dog absolutely tore the guy up; ripped his shirt off; and as he was running for his life left his stolen stuff scattered on the steps and walkway near the door. I thnk these two dogs worked as a team. Ah, the element of surprise. Works every time.
Knowledge can make a bloody entrance.
