I knew they were possible but haven’t seen one yet. Then again, one (almost) overhead pass was so bright it might have been a flare the whole time, and then it abruptly faded.
There is a 2-hour or so window after sunset for viewing many satellites. After that, the Earth gets in the way and blocks sunlight from reaching them and they appear to suddenly vanish.
