One of my favorites. He built his guitar by hand and uses Vox tube amps. He has that warm sustain - just great. He must be very intelligent because astrophysics is very difficult and it is a real PhD.
The bass player in the Kinks, Pete Quafie taught astronomy after he left The Kinks. The stress of the battling Davies brothers was too much for Pete.

As far as a I know - Jeff Baxter’s paper on using the Navy’s Aegis cruisers as a “poor man’s” Star Wars missile defense system became what we now have and could be used to knock out North Korean missiles and possibly’s Iran’s.

My personal favorite was Don Rich. I couldn't find a good youtube of him playing guitar, but here he is on fiddle playing
Orange Blossom Special. Although it's not great audio, here is is playing the Buck Owens theme, Buckaroo.
Rick Nelson did some very good stuff. Oh, and since you like Rick Nelson, here's Hello, Mary Lou.

Some one ask Jimmy Hendrix who was the worlds best guitar player.... Jimmy Hendrix said you better ask Phil Keggy.

Love Yngwie Malmsteen, but can’t believe nobody on this thread has mentioned the great Leo Kottke yet!

my son, 14yrs, is a guitar maniac. he has virtually taught himself to play. he loves stevie ray vaughn, jimmie hendrix, and jonny winter. he can play thier stuff, plus he can do a pretty good luther perkins. he would definately put those guitarists in a different order. and perkins would be there along with brian may and the others i have listed. he would put b.b. king, eric johnson, and robert johnson on that list also.

I met Tommy after a show one time. He told a funny story about Chet having one small figurine on his fireplace mantle. It was a little image of Tommy E.
Chet held great respect for Tommy.
