You can give me a line of excuses on why the National GOP Committee who dole out dollars for Congressional Candidates did not back my Candidacy for the Illinois 5th Congressional district (Rahm Emmanuel's seat Special Election). I have been a Republican all my life and I have been very involved with elections.
But the most important fact about this discussion is that I am of Mexican Decent.
I am a HISPANIC "hear me roar"
I am hardworking (At least that is what they say about illegal aliens) and I am a Christian. (Which they argue how good that is for the country as least when they tag it on to illegal aliens)
The GOP usually has their obligatory WE MUST REACH OUT TO BLACKS AND HISPANICS rhetoric which I hear OVER AND OVER AND OVER. When I attend meetings in Illinois all I ever see is White guys endorsing white guys in ties and suits that look like they are getting ready to make their First Holy Communion. Cookie cutter white guys, the beat goes on.
The Republican Party has no intention of reaching out to Hispanics. The only Hispanics they want are illegal aliens who provide cheap labor for the Corporations. Then the Corporations can make big campaign contributions to the little white guys in suits and ties I always see at GOP meetings.
The National Republican Congressional Committee even place ROBO Calls into the Illinois 5th Congresional District asking Republicans if they were voting for me and then tried to raise money on my back, without ever donating one red cent to my Campaign. Great Character they display Right?
Now I see a FABULOUS HISPANIC CONSERVATIVE running for Senate in Floria and the Republican Nation Party is throwing him under the bus.
Javier Manjarres of the Conservative Republican Alliance interviews the former Florida House Speaker whose 2010 Senate campaign has sparked a grassroots uprising against the GOP elite:

The National Republican Party has lost it's way. Maybe they are not rejecting us because we are Hispanic, maybe it is because they have no use for Conservatives.
I was hopeful when I read about what is going on in Florida as we speak:
"A Republican backlash is brewing against the state and national party as they anoint Gov. Charlie Crist's U.S. Senate campaign -- thereby dissing that of his rival, former state House Speaker Marco Rubio."
Now there is also a group who is doing the right thing, namely: Not one penny to the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC)
Jeb is backing Rubio. Crist has his hanger ons.
Steele has not come out in support of Crist.
There are cos. down there working for Rubio and
huge numbers of people in general.
He was the Speaker of the St. leg. and a Cuban American in his 30s.
I don't need to do "homework" to recognize a racist position. Like someone else said you're focusing more on race than anything else in this thread...
Until the GOP gets some strong CONSERVATIVE leadership, they will continue to flail about shooting themselves in their lower extremities and throwing good candidates out with the bath.
They don't promote conservative hispanics because they're licking their chops over the large group of potential voters and promoting those who will use coercive government and handouts to get the large numbers.
Rubio is running in Florida, where the Cuban is king. I don’t think being hispanic hurts him there.
What hurts him is not being the “swells’” fair-haired boy, he’s conservative and he’s his own man.
But be that as it may, this is exactly what the rest of us are up against, the party muckedy-mucks are trying to drive the party to some mythical center and if we don’t take the party back there won’t be anything left to save.
So folks like Rubio, and Toomey, and folks like Palin, and Hunter father and son, and maybe folks like you and me, we’ve got to hang in and try to take the party back. Its ours, but they are making a mockery of it.
Gee, what could it be, I don't even know who you are but I will never vote for you. You sound like an angry, petty, racist, wack case.
It’s not that they hate hispanics Chicagolady (AKA Ms. Pulido), it that they hate CONSERVATIVES. YOu have found a very valuable lesson, congratulations you are a conservative and threat to the RINO Establishment. Though you didn’t win (this time) you have been inducted into a very exclusive club: the coservative that has the guts to stand up to the establishment. (See Sen. Mel Martinez that the Republican party doesn’t hate HISPANICS, only CONSERVATIVE Hispanics;)!
You got that right! (sarc/)
Chicagolady, you’re way too conservative for the Republican Party.
That is the most accurate statement in this thread so far. And it has nothing to do with race.
No maybe about it. Remember /Ed Gillespie saying that there was no place in the party for advocates of limited government? The GOP is just a bunch of Democrats who think they can do Big Govrnment for a little less money.
You got a lot of backing from Ameria's Indepenedent Party. I urge you to look into it further.
By the way, it makes me proud when a fellow FReeper gets off the bench and actually runs for office. You did it, no one can take that from you. Now, after you have time to decompress, get ready to do it again. We need people like you, conservatives like us, to actually get into the fight.
So I’m proud even if the party bigshots weren’t impressed. Do like Toomey; wait for it to come around again and then do it again.
Sadly, the RNC has a history of playing race games lately. A few years ago they moved a black republican to my district, one of the safest GOP districts in the country, to try and get a replacement for J.C. Watts in the House. It was the third district they had moved him to. The voters here would have none of it.
Ideally conservatives have a core set of beliefs that we all agree to on based on the Constitution. We then invite anyone who agrees with those principles to join us regardless of gender, color or creed. We then elect the individuals most likely to uphold those principles to office - once again regardless of gender, color or creed.
However, I don’t think we need another person who looks at the world through a race colored filter in Washington. And based on the condescending stereotyping in your vanity you qualify as one of those.
And yes, I’m another cookie cutter white guy, not that it matters.

You get the prize behind door #3! :o)
Now that would make a great tagline.
Do your homework and read some of the posts, it is always good to get an idea of what we are talking about before you comment.
If you have not been following me, you don’t understand what is going on. Commenting when you do not know what is going on is...dispicable and worthy of comtempt...no, beneath contempt
Geez...you just can't talk to a racist...
