Now, hold on. You're bashing one of MY favorite books. But don't look on The Scarlet Pimpernel as primarily an adventure book. IMO, that is the wrong genre for it. It is a REGENCY ROMANCE and one of the best.

It is a REGENCY ROMANCE and one of the best.That would explain why my 15-year-old son is finding it tiresome! On the other hand, he doesn't know from "tiresome" until he tries to read "Great Expectations" next week!
