My God. I remember the days you were a hero on FR; now you have people questioning your motives? I always like the ones who have to see when you first signed on to FR for time in service/time in grade.

I agree that the true disruptors should go. People who are here to waste our time are worthless.
What I would hate to see happen though is an abuse button war. Many people here have certain issues that they care about the most. Mine are abortion, government discrimination, gun rights, and free speech. I’m hardcore in these areas. For example, I don’t like abortion exceptions for rape, support a race-blind Constitution, believe that the 2A should be treated like the first, etc. If I were to hit abuse on every poster that didn’t agree with me 100% on these issues, I would be reporting people all day and night. If I wanted a copy of myself, I’d just look in the mirror.

Well..., I’ve got a suggestion for ridding the board of trolls. My rule would be if someone calls me a troll, definitely they should be banned... :-)

I think Jim should have an auction. Anyone can post the name of their favorite troll. Then people can donate for a zot, the name with the highest total donations in their name gets ZOTed of the island.
It would probably be the end of freepathons.
That being said, I don't think conservatives should have to be cardboard cut outs marching in lock-step on every single issue. I have always enjoyed the fact that there is a lot of very intelligent discussion and divergent interests and opinions here.
One aspect of this forum of which I do question the value is the incessant religious ranting and needling that goes on here between Protestants and Catholics. Rush and other good conservative talk show hosts do not allow their air time to be squandered with this stuff and I think those who do it here, often with enormously long screaming large type color postings, are indulging in an arrogant and selfish waste of bandwidth.
