Palaeontologists found 40 strands of fossilised hair inside samples of coprolite, or fossilised dung, from a cave in South Africa that was used by brown hyaenas.
Until now the oldest samples of human hair were from a 9,000 year old mummy found in northern Chile. It is extremely rare for soft tissue such as hair, skin and muscle to survive more than a few hundred years and only hard tissue like bone is fossilised normally.
But scientists believe the new samples of hair are the remains of an early species of human that was scavenged by hyaenas after death, allowing the delicate hairs to be preserved inside the dung as it fossilised.

Huge logical leap.
Hyenas used to be thought of only as scavengers. Recent research has found they are among the major predators of Africa. It's at least as logical that this person was killed and eaten by hyenas.
That is an amazing sentence from a purely english lexical syntax perspective. 7 nouns and 2 verbs.....
Weekend editor.
hyaena poo is where we ALL ended up until we started burying our dead.
And I do mean ALL of us.
For some reason, HT and hyena poop just seem to go together...
What’s worse while the hyenas are eating your remains you’ll never know if they’re laughing at you or with you.
And I do mean ALL of us.
I distinctly recall being crow crap after a past life.
“why cant people just believe what the Bible says about the earth being 6,000 years old and go from there Ill never know.” ................................... Its a very simple answer, they just don’t believe it. Its like you not believing it was 200,000 years, or that the Koran is not the word of God. I see it as science trying to find an answer to a very difficult question that does not have a simple answer. Some people can not accept a simple answer, they want an in depth study. Whether or not the nomadic tribes of the dessert came up with the answer over 4000 years ago remains to be seen, but you can believe it if you are accepting their beliefs. Let the scientists continue their research, I’m still interested in the discovery of clam shells in the Alps, the newly discovered planets and galaxies, and the finding of ancient civilizations (They keep popping up, no mention of some of them until recently.).
Think what else they’d have to believe. . .that they are sinners, in need of a Savior, etc. It’s not our nature to accept that.
“Why oh why cant people just believe what the Bible says about the earth being 6,000 years old and go from there Ill never know.”
Yeah. Remember when the church arrested people for saying the earth circles the sun, rather than vice versa?

I call it using all of the faculties God gave us.
And to permanently eradicate that image from your hard drive, you can use Eraser.
The Bible doesn't say that, Bishop Usher did.
I know there’s a good joke in there somewhere, but I can’t find it.

""We came out with a dirt clod and inside the dirt clod was a human hair 14 inches long," she said. "It was so old there was no pigment."
"While scientists have yet to determine its age, the layer of soil it was in dates back 11,000 to 12,000 years.
Actually, in order for one object to be “circling” another, you have to assume that one is in a fixed position. Since modern science tells us that both the earth and the sun are in motion, its just as logical to say the sun is revolving around the earth as vice versa. Just sayin...
I read a study done in England about water wells that are down hill from a cementary...the water in all the water wells (used in households) contained human protein.
Said nothing about carbon dating; nor any other similar method. May have just been from geological dating.
