Per Snopes, it’s false: http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/dollarcoin.asp
Is this a joke?
OH NO,
NOT THIS AGAIN!
They are all hoping we can use their godless fiat currency excuse for money to buy the government’s new green fiat car.
It’s printed on the edge. People should be more worried about the fiat “value” of said coinage.
It’s on the rim of the coin.
Again?
Was this story issued by African Press International?
You really shouldn’t believe everything you read in an email. Please, some critical thinking is called for. This thing is a couple of years old and debunked so many times it’s not funny, yet the naive continue to fall for it.
HUGH!! SERIES!!!
A Moose bit my sister, she lost her cheese.
Shower ON!
I didn’t check all previous coins but the 2009 release certainly have it http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/$1coin/index.cfm?flash=yes .
Use my tag line as a back up if needed.
Don’t care one way or the other.
What is printed on money doesn’t affect my faith in God in any way at all, ever.
There are two ways to take a particular form of currency out of circulation... by not accepting it, and by not spending it.
I would say that the former would be an ineffective means of protesting the new coin for two reasons...
1. not enough people would do it
2. the person owing you the money could legally claim the debt paid for your refusal to accept the US backed currency.
The latter method could have a more lasting and more profitable result... by hording these coins and not spending them, we could keep them out of circulation.
If enough people did that, the same impact would be felt at the treasury, the policy would be changed, and those who horded the coins might even make a little money on them down the road. As long as they are kept out of circulation, and enough people refused to SPEND them, the same result may be possible.
Here’s another idea....
We could alter the new coins by imprinting “in God we Trust” on them, and then spend them.
poor noob, not to worry, it won’t be the last time...I still get caught once in a while..*LOL*
Grow up.
Instead of “In God We Trust,” it says, “Obama Doesn’t Like Competition.”
