WEYMOUTH, Mass. -- Police say a man dressed liked a ninja used a sword in an attempt to rob a Weymouth dry cleaner. According to police, a convenience store clerk called police Monday after she noticed a man walking into the store wearing a ski mask and carrying a sword in a sheath on his belt. When the man noticed her, he pulled his mask off and asked if she was calling about him, police said.

” After the man drew his sword, the clerk attempted to stop the robbery by throwing shuriken’ or steel stars at the suspect. The clerk also managed to shoot blowdarts at the would-be robber before she called the police. Once she dialed 9-11, all she saw was a big-puff of smoke where the suspect stood second before.’

“There, police said he pointed a sword at the register and asked a clerk to give him all the money inside. Police said he left after she told him she couldn’t open the drawer.”

Not very ninja-like to just give up like that, y’know?

What would have been really funny (to my warped mind, anyway) is for the clerk to have pulled out a .38 and pointed it at the “ninja.”

Never bring a knife to a gunfight, and all that...
