Congratulations on the birth of your first grandson. There will be another Derby next year :)

:’D Gotta like that guy. He said something like “now maybe people will ask about something other than the drive home,” and took off on the roving mike guy. ;’)
I seem to recall a Derby winner of years back, a filly, cost $10,000 — Mine That Bird (a gelding, youch!) cost $9,500, and that’s not in inflation-adjusted dollars. Has won over $300K already in its career (as of yesterday). Nice.

That amount would give “Bird” sole possession of second highest ever

"I like ole Calvin."
He sure sounded emotional. Great attitude.
Spoke with a funny draw. Can't figure out where he's from.
I liked the fact that the owner gave all the credit to the jockey for an outstanding run.
Now that was fun.

Oh well. That may be more common than not — the Derby winner skips the second or third or both.

How great is that.
I am so happy for them. I grinned the entire time they walked him to the winning circle.

Mine That Bird was crowded out and shoved to the back at the start of the race and then it just weaved in and out of the pack like a rocket to the very end and passed them all up. WOW!!!!

'Spoke with a funny draw. Can't figure out where he's from. He's a Louisiana Cajun straight from swamp country.
