For quite some time now, FReepers on both sides of this pit bull issue have been arguing, attacking, & harassing the "other side". What has this accomplished? Unfortunately very little except anger & strife amongst fellow republicans on this message board.
I think it has gotten to the point now where both sides should pretty much be able to concur that this is pointless, as it is unlikely that either side is going to change their mind.
We are all FReepers, and there is no use in turning against each other on any issue. We need to stay united to fight against political policies & laws that democrats are trying to implement.
Can we all agree from this point on, that not only do both sides have a right to post articles about pit bulls, either positive or negative, but that they have a right to discuss their views in their own thread without concern about the "other side" coming in to their thread to harass, attack or annoy them because of their views? (yes, I know that was a run on sentence...LOL!).
Basically, from now on, if you don't agree with the subject of the pit bull thread, either positive or negative, please, please don't go in it. Just let that "side" discuss it amongst themselves. If someone from "the other side" does come in to your thread & try to create trouble, just hit the "report abuse" button, then ignore them. Hopefully then they will get the message. This issue is not worth fighting amongst each other about.
I know that when these disagreements started in each others threads, I said some things that I regret, because that is not the type of person I am, or want to be. For that, I apologize.
So what do you say? Can both sides agree right now that we each have a right to disagree, and finally call a truce?

I would be for extermination of the entire species and wouldn’t shed a tear for a single one of them. All of the pit bulls in the world is not worth one child.
We have enough unwritten rules around here as it is. Pit bull threads have absolutely nothing to do with federalist positions. A state makes dog laws. Some agree. Some don’t. The end. Now if you want to talk about a federal dog law, that would have a place in this forum.
You are not worth one pitbull.
Further, if pitbulls were gone another breed would be demonized by the press and it would be off to the races again.
There are more stupid sissie sallys than breeds of dog so people like you apparently want all dogs exterminated.

My Bebe is 11 now, a dear little shadow. She was never teased, and never became mean. Vet thinks she’s a bit senile, now, though...I will just take good care of her until she says goodbye. They sure can steal your heart.

I got mine from a friend who bred them for a while, then gave them away to friends (we just paid expenses, very cheap).
I had her neutered and all her life she has “babied” soft little fuzzy squeeky toys. A natural mouser, too.
I agree. FR is about conservative politics; not this trash. I think people who try to incite this negative behavior should post them somewhere else. I also think they have an agenda other than what FR is about. Let’s stop this nonsense now. We don’t need to be wasting our time or energy with people who don’t care or want to understand anything because they have another agenda. My suggestion is if something is posted again; ignore it. That’s what I am doing.

That is an absolutely gorgeous picture. Minpins are just beautiful. Delicate as tiny deer, brave as any soldier.
Here we go:
A friend of mine has a huge Labrador Retriever. It eats a lot, and we went to the store to buy a large bag of dog food. We were in line to check out and a woman behind him asked if he had a dog.
The “what a moron!” look on my buddy’s face was priceless, and I knew what it meant: he was going to toy with her. He told her that no, he was starting The Purina Diet again although he probably shouldn’t — he said he had ended up in the hospital last time, but that he’d lost 50 pounds before he awakened in intensive care with tubes coming out of most of his orifices and IVs in both arms.
He told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. He said that the food is nutritionally complete so he was going to try it again.
I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with his story, particularly a big tall guy who was behind the woman.
Horrified, she asked why he ended up in the hospital — had the Purina made him sick? He told her no; he’d been sitting in the middle of the street licking his b***s and a car hit him.
The woman turned fire-engine red, and I helped the tall guy up off the floor.
