Everybody has an opinion. If they have no opinion, that is their opinion ;) This seems more of a mentality. Subservience to government is great for others. Anyone who cares about another human being does not want them restricted and subservient in most cases though. Lack of empathy, leftism, is characteristic of quite a few psychological disorders.

People who have no fear of God may well need some other form of control.

“The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.”

Very true. And the former are the slow-witted, unpragmatic type, easily swayed by arguments based on fear, and large numbers. Ted Turner comes to mind.

Taiwan and Hong Kong SEEM chaotic, because they are (relatively) free societies, so political disputes and society’s dirty laundry will be public viewing.

China SEEMS stable, but in fact, the heaps of its dirty laundry are assiduously kept from public view by the Party. Its politics are byzantine and highly factional and even with the internet, public scandals rarely surface and certainly don’t gain traction.

The influence is there. Respecting the freedom of others necessarily leads to a certain amount of chaos though. Is the price of continuous servitude and the ‘peace’ that has never realized from the false ideal worth enslavement?

I encourage you to study Chinese history and Confucianism, which is not Leftist nor a psychological disorder. It is akin to the stoicism of the Spartan city-state as well as the Roman Empire (at the height of its glory, 70% of the population of Rome consisted of slaves whose lives had little value). Empathy and sympathy are traits formed by Judeo-Christian values.
