Guns are inanimate objects that have to be operated to pose a hazard. Dogs can act on their own. They are not the same, no matter how much anyone wants to excuse the the dog.

A dog can only act to harm a human being IF it is allowed to by the human that owns it. Dogs who are:
(a) leashed
(b) trained to obey
(c) not allowed to run free
(d) not trained by humans as fighters or as attack dogs
do not harm other people.
Dogs are not the bosses of humans, UNLESS the humans allow the dog to take over.
YOU are responsible for your dog’s actions, not the dog.
