As y'all know there is a Freepathon going on
and I thought it might be a fun idea to raise some contributions in Chet's name.
Kinda like making lemonade out of lemons.
As you might be aware, our buddy Chet like to post pitbull stories.
I'm suggesting to those who want to join in
that over the next week we set aside a certain amount of money each day to be donated to FR.
There can be 2 donation levels, one of $5/day and one of $10/day.
From those base levels we will subtract $1/day for each pitbull article that Chet post.
The folks at the $5/day level, if Chet remains consistent are likely to pay nothing.
For example Chet has posted SIX pitbull articles today,
Folks at the $5/day pledge level would donate nothing for today.
Folks at the $10/day pledge level would be on the hook today for $4
(course the day isn't over yet and Chet might post 4 more articles before midnight)
We'll start tomorrow and tally up the totals next Saturday,
post our results on the Freepathon thread and make our Chet Challenge donations.
It could also be the time when we make any additional donations in the name of all us dog lovers here on FR
Sorry to have got your goat granny.
If you don’t like my “sanctimonous lectures” don’t click in the thread.
People, like Chet, wish to take away our property rights.
He a fanatic on a vendetta against “pitbulls”.
His stated objective to only be able to see “pitbulls” zoos.
He is our enemy whether you see it or not.
I’ve tried to explain it to you a number of times.
So please spare me your sanctimonius lectures.
You are either too blind, too dense or too uncaring
to understand what is happening.
QUIT TRYING TO SHUT US UP
It is amazing how many ‘conservatives’ here
don’t have a clue about personal responsibilty.
To relegate "pitbulls" to zoos and wildlife sanctuaries.
He has been quite clear about that.
>Dogs can act on their own.<
A dog can only act to harm a human being IF it is allowed to by the human that owns it. Dogs who are:
(a) leashed
(b) trained to obey
(c) not allowed to run free
(d) not trained by humans as fighters or as attack dogs
do not harm other people.
Dogs are not the bosses of humans, UNLESS the humans allow the dog to take over.
YOU are responsible for your dog’s actions, not the dog.
Left out one point:
Dogs who are:
(a) leashed
(b) trained to obey
(c) not allowed to run free
(d) not trained by humans as fighters or as attack dog
(e) ALWAYS supervised when around children
do not harm other people.
>It is amazing how many conservatives here
dont have a clue about personal responsibilty.<
I find it equally amazing how many on this forum have this “Lassie” mentality that dogs should be born automatically knowing to respond instantly to every human wish, and to never bite a person or child, no matter what is done or not done to it.
Here is a classic representation of human stupidity and the extent to which morons will go in teasing a dumb animal. Now, according to some on this thread, this dog may be acting of its own free will with NO HUMAN reason whatsoever. In other words, it’s obviously the dog’s fault:

Nutty post. Never met a pit bull I liked. I contribute to FR in spite of my disdain for pit bulls. Although that Jim Robinson, he kinda reminds me of a pit bull. :-)
Thanks!
Should, ought to, never, always.....
When you find the perfect world, let us know.
In the meantime, we have to deal with reality as it is.
I suppose that you’ve managed to produce the perfect robot dog that never, ever, in its entire life ever failed to instantly obey your every command and never decided on its own to do something that you didn’t give it permission to?
Kanawa,
So now it comes out that you are on a crusade against Chet for personal reasons. Your words in your own posts-don’t bother denying it.
Are you really so small and moronic to believe that several on this thread take strong offense to you and your ilk trying to single out and ridicule a fellow FReeper as an attack and now you have the audacity to claim VICTIMIZATION???
You are playing the Liberal playbook. Free speech for all who are with you.
Are you proud of the pissing contest you have caused? I bet you are.
I love your first sentence. It shows a real sense of humor and I am not saying that in a sarcastic way...I think it is witty...But I answered a thread posted to me...I’ll take your advice and not click on anything from you, but I wish you a great life and God Bless...
Thanks for stopping by and bumping the thread!
Thanks gg and to you as well.
Please keep me updated,if he holds off for a week will donate...
BTW i think this is a fun idea, but i hate to think how many pitbull stories will be posted after day 7...
LOL!
If I were him, I’d hold off posting just to make me pay for my fun.
I’m in for $70 US which will probably be ~$90 CDN,
a not insubstantial chunk of change.
It wouldn’t be easy, ‘cause all week long my posting finger would be twitching.
But I’d resist and use the time to research and get a stock of PB stories
and be ready to hit the road running come next Saturday.
...10 articles a day for at least week. :)
Thanks for stopping by and bumping the thread.
>In the meantime, we have to deal with reality as it is.<
And that is why dangerous dog laws, that punish the negligent owner, exist. If people want to own dogs, they must take steps to keep their dogs from harming others, whether they own a giant dog or the tiniest toy breed. In my state, if they want to let their dogs run free and cause injury to people and to other people’s pets, they will pay the legal consequences.
Part of preventing dogs from biting is not putting them in situations where they are unsupervised around strangers or where they might feel cornered. Responsible dog owners, who have well-behaved animals, train and socialize them. Their dogs live their lives out having never harmed a person, despite their breed. A responsibly raised and managed dog poses far less threat to society, be it Labrador or American Staffordshire.
