It’s a POLL - in theory, of actual fans, not just artsy-fartsy fringe-lovers. It can’t “fail”. And it hasn’t anyway, because it has lots of fringe whatchamacallits in it.

I have to say, Thriller was and is an extraordinary collection of brilliant pop tunes and amazing vocal performances. This was Michael Jackson at the height of his considerable genius, before he became a plastic, decrepit, one man freak show.

“Off the Wall” didn’t just “get people interested”. It was a major hit itself, with several song hits.

True, though it’s financial success pales in comparison to Thriller. Off the Wall was definitely more successful that your typical “trampoline” album, like Def Leppards High and Dry or Scorpions Blackout (or Animal Magnetism, take your pick).

Well, I don’t know half of them; besides Craig David....

Radiohead

Arctic Monkeys
Amy Winehouse

Who are these people?

Led Zeppelin-II and IV.
The Who Tommy and Quadrophina(sic)
Pink Floyd- The Wall.
And there are many more from the 70’s that have slip my mind. What they call musi now is just noise.

OOPS! Add one more to my “never heard of ‘em” post — the “Arctic Monkeys”.

Oasis - you’ve probably heard the song “Wonderwall” before even if you didn’t know it was Oasis.

Radiohead - I’ve never actually listened to them, but I have heard of them! (Or perhaps I have heard one of their songs, but didn’t know who it was...).

Amy Winehouse — You’d probably recognize her picture — she’s that heroin addict with the nasty tatts, anorexic figure, black hair and thick eyeliner... Anyway, I’d heard of her, but never listened to any of her songs until about a month ago. She is VERY talented, but has a TON of problems she needs to work out...

Am I going to get totally made fun of for saying this??? Who in the heck is Craig David???

I'm right there with you. I admit I don't keep up much with modern music but you can't help but hear names and I have never heard of this guy.
