Ahhhh, but how quickly will the "voice" fade?

The real impact will not be today...or tomorrow. The msm will make light of this "event" a month from now...two months from now, it will have been largely forgotten.

Remember: you heard it here first.

Hedgecock seeks popular uprising (Just give me one minute to get ready - wink)

Talk radio host and WND columnist Roger Hedgecock says the Department of Homeland Security report he unveiled should cause more than alarm for Americans.

“This kind of intimidation is so un-American,” he said. “I’m hoping people will rise up against it.”

He was interviewed today about his report by Greg Corombos of Radio America/WND.

This is about the taxpaying 47% of the population responding to the other 53% who voted themselves a raise at the taxpayer’s expense.

According to this a.m. CNBC, obozo gave a press conference in response to the “Tea Parties” amassed across the country. This tells me the RATS especially obozo attempting damage control.

Some photos of a Small Town, USA Tea Party.

I expected 50 at the max and instead, about 500-600 showed up.

“EDITORIAL: A brewing tax revolt”

SNIPPET: “Today is tax day, and across America, taxpayers are holding tea parties to protest out-of-control government spending. Their concern is no tempest in a teapot.

The tax burden on American families is growing increasingly heavy.”

Tea Party in Grand Haven, Michigan.
Attendance was probably 200 - a very nice crowd for a small town.
A good mix of people - very positive!

RANT: I just read the (Tea Party) Riot Act to a RNC telephone fund solicitor (vanity)

Posted on April 24, 2009 8:15:54 PM PDT by The Spirit Of Allegiance

I just got a phone call from a nice lady who said she had a message for me from Michael Steele.

She told me how shameful it was that Mr. Obama would bow to a Saudi and was urging my support of the RNC.

I cut her spiel short and agreed that the bow and overall moral cowardice of that man is a disgrace. (I am praying that Mr. Obama will become a man of courage and decency.)

I then made it very clear that in my eyes, Mr. Steele has been less than a mighty force for Conservatism—so far. I pointed out how he has been wimpy on the Second Amendment, got thoroughly feedbacked and has taken a better position of late.

I noted that the RNC is not yet taking a strong enough stand about the BLOODY hands of the Kansas Governor/HHS candidate, nor about the loathsome loose lips of the DHS figurehead Napolitano.

I told her I’m the last person who would hope to see the GOP divided but I am not satisfied that the RNC’s agenda is satisfactory—and as a result I will support local/state and national candidates directly instead of through the RNC.

At that comment, my Gentle Caller protested that the RNC does not support any candidates in primaries.

I told her it was TIME THEY DID.

I told her it was time they posted criteria on who and why they supported such.

I told her it was time for CLOSED primaries.

She again told me the RNC doesn’t support closed primaries.

I didn’t have the chance to mention the RNC’s general vacuum-like absence of SUPPORT of its GRASSROOTS BASE at the 4/15 Tea Parties.

I did tell her I would be posting details of this conversation here at FR.

I didn’t get around to mentioning how the last two Christmases I’ve been wished “Happy Holidays” instead of Merry Christmas so I’ll add that thought here as well.

/ RANT OFF

“How to Stop a Healthcare Hijack”
By J. Robert Smith

SNIPPET: “Stop an arcane parliamentary maneuver - “reconciliation” - and the odds improve at stopping the Democrats march toward socialized medicine. But Republicans can’t do it; not alone, anyway. It’s up to the legions of Tea Partiers and average Americans to win the fight.”

SNIPPET: “Healthcare is in need of reform - free market reform - but it’s not in crisis. All Americans are entitled to an open, transparent legislative process. But it’s not Senate Republicans who can make the process fair or stop the hijacking of the nation’s healthcare. That’s up to Americans — Tea Party Americans — who prize freedom. “

Prop. 1A foes protest ahead of election
By Hiram Soto Staff Writer
2:00 a.m. May 17, 2009

DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO — Shrugging off warnings of deep cuts in state services and a gaping budget deficit, protesters turned out yesterday on the last weekend before Tuesday’s special election to rally against Proposition 1A, the most contentious of the six state ballot measures.

The crowd of about 200 gathered at a so-called “tea party” at Spanish Landing Park on Harbor Drive to protest the measure, which proposes a two-year extension of temporary increases in sales taxes, car registrations and income tax.

Thousands of people in San Diego County have participated in similar protests against taxes and government spending policies as part of “tea parties” around the nation.

“We are tired of politicians raising taxes every time they get into financial trouble,” said Leslie Eastman, an event organizer and co-founder of the Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition.

“They should be focusing on cutting spending and not raising taxes in the middle of a financial crisis.”

Supporters of Proposition 1A acknowledge the measure is not a solution to the budget crisis but rather a way to prevent the state from implementing deep cuts to a wide range of programs and services.

“Those who are arguing otherwise frankly are not living in reality,” said spokeswoman Julie Soderlund from the Budget Reform Now Coalition, an umbrella organization that supports propositions 1A through 1F.

Proposition 1A attempts to smooth out the state’s volatile revenue picture by imposing restraints on future spending and requiring that surplus revenues in good years be placed in a reserve fund to be used during economic downturns.

It also would give the governor greater authority to reduce certain types of spending without legislative approval. Its most controversial feature is a two-year extension of $16 billion in temporary tax increases that are scheduled to expire in 2011.

The other measures propose borrowing against future lottery revenue and tapping funds set aside for other programs, among other things. Recent polls showed all the budget measures failing.

Even if the measures pass, California still would face a $15 billion deficit for the fiscal year that begins in July. If the measures fail, the deficit would be least $21 billion.

After yesterday’s demonstration, several protesters drove to another anti-tax event in Corona. Among the protesters was Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone, chairman of the NoWay1A campaign.

“As (Gov. Arnold) Schwarzenegger once said, this is not a revenue problem, but a spending problem, and unfortunately he has failed to restrain spending,” Stone said.

Many in the crowd of about 200 had voted for the Republican governor when he replaced then-Gov. Gray Davis in 2003 after voters recalled Davis amid a state budget crisis. Now some were signing petitions to recall Schwarzenegger.

“I’m fed up with all of these tax hikes,” said Rich Green, who works for an information-technology company and who signed one of the petitions.

“I don’t mind paying taxes as long as it is properly spent, and they have wasted all of this money for so long. Enough is enough.”

The ballot measures include:
• Proposition 1A, which increases the required “rainy day” fund, may limit spending and extends temporary taxes (one-cent sales tax, vehicle license fee increases and higher income tax for top wage earners) enacted by Gov. Schwarzenegger and the Legislature earlier this year.

• Proposition 1B, which provides additional funding to schools if Prop. 1A also is approved.

• Proposition 1C, which modernizes the state lottery and allows the state to borrow against future lottery profits.

• Proposition 1D, which moves a portion of revenues from tobacco tax (Prop. 10) to the general fund.

• Proposition 1E, which redirects a portion of Proposition 63 revenues to the general fund.

• Proposition 1F, which would bar elected officials from receiving pay increases during deficit years.

Anti-tax protesters rally on eve of election [Mission Viejo, CA]
The Orange County Register ^ | Monday, May 18, 2009 | ERIKA I. RITCHIE
Posted on May 19, 2009 6:25:17 AM PDT by TheDon

MISSION VIEJO – About 100 protesters lined the four corners of Marguerite Parkway and La Paz Road this evening, expressing anger at measures before voters Tuesday and outrage at state spending.

The protest, which began about 4:30 p.m., was organized by the Saddleback Republican Assembly to demonstrate the group’s opposition to the ballot measures up for election. Protesters say they are enraged by state spending. Protesters said the issues were neither Republican nor Democrat. They are California issues.

“As a single woman on a fixed retirement I have to budget everything,” said Elizabeth Mead, 67, a retired school teacher. “But the federal government and the state of California will tax me big time as a single person. My taxes are high enough. I’m fed up with what this is costing me. Stop the madness.”

By 4:30 p.m., Mead and dozens of protesters were on scene, holding signs saying, “Just say no more taxes,” and “No on Props 1A” and “No on Props 1A – 1F,” in reference to measures on Tuesday’s statewide ballot. The protest ended around 7 p.m.

Organizers brought in “Diamond Tom” Speiss of Mission Viejo, who sang some Neil Diamond, Santana and 1960’s and 70’s songs to energize the crowd and draw attention from passing motorists.

“Why are you here?” Speiss shouted. “No more taxes,” the crowd roared back.

The scene took on the look of a political rally, with music blaring, protesters waving U.S. flags and red, white and blue pompons and passing cars honking their horns.

Marlys Gillies, 64, a business owner from Capistrano Beach, was among those taking part.

“It’s the only legal thing we can do besides voting,” she said. “The more they take, the more they spend, the more they want.”

Hi Folks, Just want to give a shout out, great big, THANK YOU to ALL who helped to make the debut of my new Tea Party Unity song, WE THE PEOPLE a huge hit yesterday! No man is an island and the release could not have been successful without you. You guys ROCK!

To all the bloggers, Man, you guys are powerful! You embraced my first song, “American Tea Party Anthem” and made it a hit. Thanks for taking “WE THE PEOPLE” under your wings.

I also wish to thank the geniuses at Our Country Deserves Better PAC. Last year, I had the honor of being a part of the team on their national “Stop Obama” tour. They have a great team including brilliant strategist, Joe Wierzbicki and young internet wiz Kelly Eustis. BTW, Kelly has the coolest hair in politics.

I’ve been blessed with so many friends in our awesome movement. I don’t want to begin naming too many names because I KNOW I will leave out someone. Again, I thank ALL of my fellow patriots from the bottom of my heart! Let’s Roll Folks, we’ve got a country to rescue...AMERICA!
