Hydrogen peroxide is one of the unsung chemical heroes IMHO, not only can you use it for rinsing your mouth, you can (with an eye dropper) use it to clean out ear wax (method: lay on one side, have someone drip hydrogen peroxide into your ear, you’ll experience a warm crackling sort of sensation like bubbles (which is what it’s doing) and after about 1 to 2 minutes, hold a kleenex to your ear, get up and let it drain out. Repeat for the other side).

If you’re suffering from any kind of head or chest cold, add 250 ml of hydrogen peroxide to a cold water humidifier and let it run in your bedroom while you’re sleeping. The moist air w/hydro-peroxide will help loosen up that junk in your lungs and air way. It will also promote drainage from out of the sinus as well.

AND (for the coup d’grace), although yours truly has never had need to use hydrogen peroxide for the following purpose, I was once told by a urologist (this applies to men only of course) that hydrogen peroxide is excellent for keeping that nasty substance commonly referred to as ‘smegma’ under control.

Let the jokes begin, lol

H202 is excellent for cleaning the built up smegma around a horse's penis. It also cleans the fossa above the horse's urethra better than anything I have ever used.

As for oral health, a recent study went the opposite direction of most of the posts here. H202 was compared to just using isotonic saline as a mouth rinse and the saline was superior. In nursing home patients and oral cancer patients, oral isotonic saline was superior to any of the dilutions of H202.

Thanks for that info! I’ve been using hydrogen peroxide for years as a mouthwash after I’ve brushed and/or flossed, and I sometimes gargle with salt water if I think I might be coming down with a cold, or will be singing a lot.

And I use saline nasal spray almost every day; I’m one of those people who seldom, if ever, gets a cold.

Bath salts: coarse kosher salt and baking soda.

As you can see, I’m in the “cheaper is better” category, LOL!
