But the occupants of this Ford were probably not expecting to have quite such a close view as they made their way through Knowsley Safari Park.
The expression on their faces is sadly not visible as their small vehicle is surrounded by no less than 10 lions who live there.
But you can bet they had the windows and locks tightly closed just in case one of the animals became over-cautious and moved even closer.

"Anyone got a can opener?"
“You can’t hide your lion eyes”...
Yikes, I’ve been in a car surrounded by Zebras and having them bump up against the car, but the most I knew they would do is kick a hole in the car... LOL...
But, there was one time that I was just about to leave a “Safari park” in my car and I spotted an ostrich running up from behind the car, in order to “catch me” (in the car). I knew that ostrich was trouble because they are known to kick your car, so I sped out of there in no time flat (I was only about 50 yards from the exit gate with that ostrich headed right for me and the car... :-)
LOL!
"You guys are gonna love these! Crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside!"
Kitties bigger than cars! They probably think it is a large, oddly colored rodent.
"No chezberger, but we kan has Ford Eskort!"
Magnificant animals.
This brings to mind the video circulating the internet a few years ago showing a tourist (and father) who got out of his car to film the lions while his wife and children watched from inside the car. The lions ambushed him...and another tourist kept the camera rolling. Horrific.
I saw a show a couple of months ago, I think it was on Animal Planet, where these two guys rode out a lion pride feeding frenzy, while sitting in a plexi glass container placed in the middle of the frenzy. Those fellow’s eyes got pretty wide when the lions started biting the container, looking for dessert...
Speaking of Cheese, it appears whomever is taking the picture is shouting “Say Cheese Everybody” as all attention seems to be towards the camera.
“.....locks tightly closed...” RIIIGHT! Wondering who does the locksmithing for the Lions, the Camera guy?
I’d bet it smells inside that little car.
“It’s here gang, our first Meals on Wheels”.
Meals on Wheels!!
I hope the people in the car had a camera. I would have filled up the memory card on mine with still photos and videos.
This was routine here in beautiful Loxahatchee, Florida at our famous “Lion Country Safari”.
Then, leftist morons had to open their DOORS and WINDOWS while crossing the Lion’s “Den”, and had to ruin it for everybody.
The Lions are now CAGED in their own grass area. Terrible.
I count two older males and one young male. That seems strange for a pride to have that many males. I guess living in captivity with regular meals changes the dynamic of the pride.
I’d have loved EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF IT while being very thankful for safety glass, a horn and an accelerator if things got nasty.
The are, indeed, magnificent. God made some things SO good. I just wish we didn’t have to be afraid of them.
