I don't know how else to interpret that post, really. I mean all of us have at least taken beginning algebra, right? Two sides of the equation must balance out on both sides of the equals sign? It's not as if it's the first time I've heard this false propaganda (and definitely not the first time on FR -- I honestly don't understand that because usually FReepers aren't prone to believing this type of propaganda, but it seems when people bring up the subject of homosexuality there are those among us who are ready to believe some really outrageous things...).

Please understand, I am not saying there are no "gay" pedophiles! Just that being gay does not equal being a pedophile. And, among pedophiles -- especially PRE-pubescent pedophiles -- the sex of the child doesn't always matter. There have been many pedophiles that have been "equal opportunity", if you catch my drift.

If information like this is readily accepted as truth (the falsehood of gay=pedophile) then people will be looking in a WAY wrong direction, and we will not be able to reduce the number of children who are assaulted sexually which I know we all would like to do.

If Vaduz didn't mean to equate homosexuals with pedophilia, then he/she definitely should've put it in a different way.

I'm not "pro-gay" (I am very much against what we've come to know as the "Homosexual Agenda" -- the agenda of gay activists), but I am definitely not interested in perpetuating dangerous myths. Especially when it means that REAL pedophiles may be overlooked due to this type of misconception.

Now, I have pinged 'canaan' on this because he/she popped up on another thread I was on a while ago, and he/she shared some excellent statistics on the behavior of pedophiles, and statistics regarding the issue of homosexuals and pedophilia. It's my hope that perhaps Canaan would be available to throw those statistics up on this thread too, so people can become better educated on this topic.

Canaan, please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't THE most common type of child sexual abuse - Male to Female Incest?

I obviously recognize that there is a problem with "under-reporting" of pedophilia due to many factors. However, with the information we do have available there doesn't seem to be any real scientific correlation whatsoever between homosexuality, and pedophilia.

Pedophiles predominantly have psychologically arrested development in the area of adult sexual relationships, and become fixated on children instead.

Also, one has to keep in mind that despite sex being involved, most pedophiles (and rapists for that matter) aren't doing it for the sexual pleasure. They are doing it for the control aspect of having power over the abused. Sex just happens to be the "tool", if you will, they are using.

In other words: Homosexuals ≠ Pedophiles

I am not disagreeing with your comement that mathematics are not perfect (e.g., not “=”), nor do I believe most pedophiles are gay.

I do, however, believe that most gay men will gladly prey on young boys, generally in their young teens or tweens. That may not be the precise definition of “pedophile,” but whatever that is called, they do.

Heck, look at last week’s story of the queer reporter who got killed seeking “rough sex” with a teen boy.

State your facts in public if you have them. Please don’t write me privately on this issue. Thank you.

Then why don't they just put a bucket and sponge in the kid's hands and say "wash my car" or "mop my kitchen"? That's "having power" over them also, albeit in a less repulsive manner.
