Dog aggression is also not uncommon among Labrador Retrievers.

Especially the field-bred types. They are higher-strung, more prey-driven, and blindingly fast. And if you wound up between two of them who were going at it, you would probably get bitten.

And some Labs will also "guard" their house or their car. Friend of mine has a Lab who will offer to bite you if you put a hand on his truck.

Mine won't bite a human (one will lick you to death, the other will just sit on your feet and lean on you), but they will sound like a gross of Rottweilers if you come on my porch. And neither of them will back down an inch from another dog.

Yeah, I’ve seen many goldens at field events who sound like they would bite. I don’t go close enough to find out, but they certainly make a show of it.

My Chocolate Labrador has a foot fetish. He likes to lean on people, but his real delight is laying on your foot or feet (once I noticed that he was laying on all three people in a room’s feet simultaneously; a trifecta).

I think he knows that if he is asleep on your foot you cannot go anywhere without him. He rests his head on my foot like a pillow and I hear him snoring in about ten seconds.

He is ultra passive and submissive. When bitten on the face suddenly by a dog all he did was a bark in a sort of “HEY, don’t bite me!” and then a whine to me “HEY, that dog bit me!”.

He was raised with small terriers and used to let them take his toys and pretended that they would knock him over, etc.

He is the sweetest most loving dog I have ever known.

They make the Chocolate ones extra sweet. ;)
