You must be able to tell by now that inspirational poems make up a lot of my favorites.

Some of them are like prayers.

Defeat in the dirt

I thought I saw a ripple in the sky
before I came crashing down
a ripple of hope, breath of a dream
I've got clouds in my mind
while tasting the ground
It would seem
I have failed
in this flight that I've taken
Defeat in the dirt
brings questions unkind
In spreading my wings
have I been mistaken?
Persistence is born of true hearts endeavour
Effort renewed by need and desire
This time I think I'll try to fly higher
If I must I'll keep trying all the days of forever

So sweet, poem and little bird. They are pitiful learning to fly, aren’t they? Doesn’t take long though!

Awwwwww. But how awesome to watch a baby fly from the nest the first time. I’ve watched it. I feel so proud for them!

LJ, that almost made me cry! Poor little thing.

I once saw a little robin drop from the nest, and the family’s dog immediately went after it. I screamed, “NO!” and the dog stopped dead in it’s tracks.

I then went to the bird, and put my finger out, and he hopped upon it. He stayed with me all afternoon, and when I drove away, he followed my car, for a long time. (Guess until his little wings got tired.) One of my greatest memories.

Thank you, LJ!
