A Chinese festival called Qing Ming is a time to express grief for lost relatives. Customs include grooming gravesites and taking walks with loved ones in the countryside. Legend has it that it began when a youths rude and foolish behavior resulted in the death of his mother. So he decided that henceforth he would visit her grave every year to remember what she had done for him. Sadly, it was only after her death that he remembered her.
How differently God deals with us! In Genesis, we read how the flood destroyed the world. Only those who were with Noah in the ark remained alive. But God remembered them (8:1) and sent a wind to dry the waters so that they could leave the ark.
God also remembered Hannah when she prayed for a son (1 Sam. 1:19). He gave her a child, Samuel.
Jesus remembered the dying thief who said, Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom. Jesus replied, Today You will be with Me in Paradise (Luke 23:42-43).
God remembers us wherever we are. Our concerns are His concerns. Our pain is His pain. Commit your challenges and difficulties to Him. He is the all-seeing God who remembers us as a mother remembers her children, and He waits to meet our needs.
Sometimes its hard to comment as the same words come into mind each time. This song is so beautiful as I read while I listened and the graphic emphasizes it all. Just lovely with a little sadness thrown in, thank you! Is this a new Reba song, as I haven’t heard it and I thought I had heard them all!!
Then I realized that Reba's song would go with the graphic really well, so I forgot looking for the other song.
I just like to present songs that are a little bit different and not the stuff on today's radio. (ya think that may be one reason we're both such fans of one grey-haired soulman?) :)
Going back a few posts to browse through Sunday & Mondays, and these little chicks are darling! Maybe I’m not up on different breeds but I don’t remember seeing anything but plain little yellow chicks! (unless they’re dyed Easter Egg colors) :)
Your Easter graphic to Jim is so cheery and ‘sunny’ looking!
This painting just takes my breath away, Nan. You find such beautiful things.
To tell you again how much I enjoyed all your fantastic butterlies you posted on Sunday!
Oh my gosh! Thanks, Sundog - even though I don’t usually open the YouTubes that are linked here because it takes so long to get them fully downloaded so that I can hear them without buffering, I did listen to this, because I’ve heard some of the other amazing talents on Britain’s Got Talent. The judges certainly didn’t expect such a voice - nor did the audience! I think it was Paul Potts that blew them away a year or so ago.
Billie, those are Bantam chicks (BBR) or Black Breasted Red. I don’t know too much about them, but loved the picture.
Here is the link I captured the picture from:
