Do a google search for MAC PROBLEMS and you'll get 23 million hits.

Do a Google search on penguins eating polar bears and you'll get 186,000 hits. Do a Google search on Johnny Cash bit my sister and you'll get 168,000 hits. You only get 18,000 hits if you search for underwear bandits love Paul Simon. Google returns a bunch of hits for any phrase.

If I were running the show over there, I'd point to the ASUS Eee 1000HE running XP. It really is different from anything Apple (currently) has in its lineup and offers the user a genuinely good experience for a recession friendly price.

I purchased the Asus 1000HE for my wife who absolutely adores it. This netbook weighs less than 3 pounds, has 7 hours of battery usage, a 10" screen, for less than $300 that outperforms our desk top. She takes it every where now. I am also using it to make this post.

Do you think that Microsoft_Watch.com might be a tad biased in their statement that "Lauren is right?"

You know damn well what I think. < |:)~

I thought you were talking about music - which is usually associated with DRM...not headphones. either way...

Aw loosen up. I own 3 macs, two dells and an xbox, two playstations and a DX. My phone runs windows (I’m too fat fingered for an iPhone), the kids have Blackjack blackberries and I’ve got an Aquos in the den, a couple Mits in the kid’s rooms, and Sanyo’s on the deck and in my room, and a JVC in the weight room. I’m an equal opportunity discriminator. I can’t even set the clock on the microwave, but by golly, we ain’t technobigots!

Six Nikons, two Eka’s, one Canon, a Pentax and a pear tree. So there! I have yet to install the last two upgrades for Photoshop. What’s your excuse?

Mac is a closed system Oh, pleeeeeeeeeeeeze!

MAC is BSD UNIX.
Its UNIX -- UNIX --- UNIX.
The Aqua interface is proprietary -- but under the hood its all UNIX. For example, need to set file permissions on the Mac -- you can do it UNIX way (terminal mode), or through the GUI. Copy files / remove etc .. you can do it the UNIX way or the GUI way -- etc. etc.

Whatever you can do in BSD UNIX you can do on the Mac.

Macs migrated to UNIX with version X. (at least 5 years ago now, maybe more.)

Do a proper Google search for the phrase inside quotation marks—"Mac problems"—and you get a more useful number... 50,700 hits. GLDNGUN's search of MAC PROBLEMS got hits for any webpage that had the string "Mac" and the string "problems" anywhere on the page... even if they were separated by several thousand words.

That's right. Over 50,000 pages with the exact phrase "Mac problems". Meanwhile, the other ridiculous examples return 3, 0, and 0 pages, proving once again that google does NOT return "a bunch of hits for any phrase."

The Mac is the tool used the most in the arts, graphics, and communication world. I have a friend who is a local conservative talkradio show hosts and he uses a Mac Pro laptop for his show and chatroom group gathering. :) =^..^=

Not 23 million, but nice try. LOL

Your search would return a hit for a page that had the sentence:

"I bought a Mac because I was sick and tired of the problems I have been experiencing with Windows."
or
"Since I got my Mac I could not be happier; all the problems I was having with Windows are a thing of the past."
or

"I know, Mac, but what's anyone to do. She'll take you for everything you own!." Several posts later: "My sister is having severe problems with her boyfriend... what should she do?"

or even:

"Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were at the heart of the problems that resulted in the melt down of the home mortgage market."

Nice try... but not 23 million hits for problems with Mac computers using a correct search parameter... LOL.

Not only that, all those myths are brought up and busted on every Mac thread.

Besides better protection against viruses, the Mac is the computer of choice for those who are in the arts, graphic design, and communications fields. :)=^..^=

I Think not... googling the set of words: penguins eating polar bears —returned 262,000 hits.
