LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 10, 2009) Longtime Washington, D.C., journalist Helen Thomas will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters degree at the 2009 University of Kentucky Commencement on May 9.
Thomas, a Winchester native, was one of three individuals chosen by the UK Board of Trustees today to receive honorary degrees. Also chosen were engineering scholar Mark E. Davis and University System of Maryland Chancellor William B. Kirwan.
Thomas is being recognized for her role as a trailblazer for women, having served as White House correspondent and later Washington bureau chief for United Press International for four decades. She also was chosen as the first female president of the White House Correspondents Association in 1975 and of the Gridiron Club in 1993. She was president of the Womens National Press Club from 1959 to 1960 and was inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame in its initial class in 1981.

I have not seen some of these photos of Helen Thomas. Yours made me laugh. The look that woman is giving the photographer is hysterical... and a bit insane!
GET your paws off me, you damn dirty ape! LOL
Heh, heh!
I would have posted earlier but my computer crashed when I clicked on this thread. I had hoped no one would post her picture. Dumb me, I should have known better. Poor woman. No one can help what they look like, but they can stay out of the public's view when they look like this.
I only opened this post for the pictures. Man, did I get my money’s worth.
Isn’t that her daughter?
Uh, you aren’t the only one who saw that resemblance with the guy sporting the mustache. LOL.
The other guy, the one by the chair, is apparently a young Dick Cheney, whom I did not recognize until it was pointed out by 2ndDivisionVet.
Nice call.
I had no idea Helen has been a witness to so much history (all kidding aside).
Too bad she is a mindless leftist - but aren’t they all?
