Just got back from seeing the movie and I must say it was much better than anything the professional reviewers suggest. I am an agnostic with a great deal of respect for Christians and the movie wasn’t ham handed in it’s approach to faith. It was somewhat scary, mostly through atmosphere. Rather good special effects.

I enjoyed the look of it and the special effects, but the central premise as voiced by the main character was faulty. He claimed that this was done so they would know where to go to be safe, that is, the trailer in the woods. However, the kids were being watched out for all along anyway and, when they were put in danger of being taken to the wrong place, had the car they were riding in stolen by The Watchers and delivered to the place. Unless that was all done to get the Nicolas Cage character to reconcile with his father.
