Alexis Grace

She chooses Dolly Parton's "Jolene"

Randy Travis: Great job! My gosh. That was perfect.

This is a good song for her. And she's singing it straight, staying true to the original with a little flourish here and there. It's kind of dull though.

Randy: Pitch problems. Tried to bend it too much. Just wasn't a great performance.

Kara: I think you lost your edge a bit. A little flat for me.

Paula: I think that song was more effective for you. You took an artisitc approach to your vocals. Don't care about the pitch problems.

Simon: I thought it was okay. Sound-alike. I think it's one of those performances we'll forget about in ten minutes.

Alexis: Please don't forget!

Alexis has a nice singing voice, but her speaking voice is annoying. She sounds like Anne Heche.

And she keeps talking!

I didn’t think she was pitchy.

Randy’s definition of “pitchy” can be pitchy in its own right. How he MISSES pitchy singers is what always astounds me.

And she keeps talking!

I remember sometime back an article said the contestants are encouraged to mix it up a little with the judges. It gets annoying, though.
