The anti-gay accusations are really getting old. Look, Adam lost because he wasn’t as current as Kris and because many voters felt that he was too theatrical and that he arranged a lot of his songs in a similar fashion each week. Most couldn’t care less who he sleeps with at night.

I guess we were both happy at last night’s results! I would like to add to your comment my belief that there was something going on between the AI/19E people and Adam’s people from the start. It was incredible the way they staged the guy, giving him national and world exposure leading up to his “win”, then his record deal which would make both of them lots of money. I felt totally manipulated. Someone made some good points here earlier—if Adam is “iconic”, why didn’t he have a record deal already? And why were the ratings for the finale the lowest since the beginning of AI? I’ve heard Adam pushed as having iconic worldwide appeal. My guess is AI/19E knows it will take worldwide exposure for him to make big money since his appeal here in the states is limited. I feel about Kris like I felt about Carrie Underwood when she won. She was not a “performer”. Wow—look at her now! Can’t wait to see Kris as he uses Idol as a platform to jump off into a professional career—I think that’s as it should be.
