Does anyone know what the Finale format has been or will be?

Past years, it's been three songs -- one repeat, one "open choice", and one the show picks. For the last couple of years, the latter was from the songwriting contest -- last year they changed it slightly to allow each contestant to choose from one of the 10 runner-ups to the contest winning song.

All the changes they're making this year, though, makes using previous years as a guide somewhat moot.

Thanks , know it may change, but appreciate your taking the time to respond.

I would like them expand the show and let them do a couple of 4-5min new tunes instead of revisiting old ones. But I know they only have x-amout of time to cover the older ones and learn the new ones. Also I would like them to have to write a piece on their own to get a better feel for their style. But I know they could not make this a rule because not all can create equally. But it would be nice to hear what they could come up with. Maybe an orgianal I-tune download to be consumed after the show.
