Agree...probably Danny gets the boot tonight. He just didn’t hold up last night.
I’m really shocked at how many think Allison was only so-so. I thought it was her best night so far. It was the first time I’ve seen real stage presence from her. And she was boffo in the duet. If she gets thrown off tonight, I’ll be very surprised.
Now I’d like to see her do something a little more fun. Maybe Scandal’s “Goodbye to You”. I used to love that song on my long L.A. commute. [The only downside is the potential “jinx” in the title!]

That's also the week they showed a real clear preference for Daughtry over the others (the judges) and I believe the fan bases of the other 3 came out in droves to protect their favorite. The same may happen again this year with Adam, which would be nice to me... I was mad at the judges Chris' year though, because I liked him, Elliot, and Taylor and wanted that to be the top 3, but their bias was over the top obvious and it did Daughtry in. IMHO Great comments. I think there's another factor that we tend not to consider, and that helped bring about Daughtry's "shocking" elimination. It's the fact that the last person voted off before Daughtry was Paris Bennett. It's not likely that Paris's fans would have switched their votes to Daughtry. They might've switched to Taylor, since he and Paris were known to be good friends. Or they might've switched to Katharine if they wanted a girl to win. But they probably didn't switch to Chris, since his music was so different from Paris's and there was no "connection" there.
The person voted off last week was Matt. So who did the Matt fans switch their votes to last night? That's a factor that could make a difference.

Im really shocked at how many think Allison was only so-so. I thought it was her best night so far. To be fair, I was only listening to the show last night, not watching, while I was working on the computer. One of the criteria I used was whether or not the song could grab my attention -- just from the vocals, it didn't. Neither in a good nor bad way.

I didn't see it mentioned upthread, but I think Slash's date at the taping last night was Tawney Katian. Heres a 20 year old picture of her...

Adam’s gone, he should have took Slash’s advice. Slash said the same thing I’ve said about him all alone “go easy on the high note dude”, yet he continued to scream like a 5 year old girl. Funny thing is when Danny did the same thing the judges got all over him for it, but Adam was just as bad and they praised him. Funny thing is Adam’s ok when he sing lower but he never does.

I saw Janis several times in small clubs in Greenwich Village in the early 60’s. She was unreal..Raw, raspy voice..incredible presence and talent. “Mercedes-Benz”..well, nothing like it... She did sets that lasted for 2 hours. She would also put a stool next to the mike at the start of her set, put a QUART bottle of Southern Comfort on it, and knock it off by the time her set ended. I couldn’t stand up if I tried to consume 1/10 of that amount.

Good morning all..two questions, if I may...
1.Anyone know how they decided the pairings for the duets? Did they draw straws, or did the producers match them up.
2. Anyone else notice the SIZE of Kara's ears? My gawd...she could flap them..and fly, like Dumbo..or at the least, autorotate over the stage..
To: Captain Beyond
Yeah, it wasn’t Danny’s best week. Danny seems like a nice guy and he’s personable, but for some reason I’ve never been able to get into him. I can’t put my finger on it.
The Adam/Allison duet was awesome. They complimented each other wonderfully.
Kris might have done better with something like Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak.”

I would like to have seen the list of songs that they had to choose from. I doubt the list was very long.

I played Zep's Whole Lotta Love after the show last night and was shocked to find that I considered Adam's voice and range to outshine Plant's. Just damn... that guy can sing.

I have no idea how they chose the duets, but, I think they hurt Kris by doing it. I don’t mind them doing duets in the finale or as a semi group number, but not in competition. Danny and Kris’ voices were not a good match. jmo

Simon slammed Allison for ‘sounding like’ Joplin and not changing it up, making it original. Did Adam change Whole Lotta Love up, or make it original somehow, that I missed? Or was he a sound alike, too?

Or was he a sound alike, too? No, you got it right. I even pointed out to Mrs. kevkrom after Adam sang that he'd be given a pass on it while the judges slammed other contestants for doing it.
To: retrokitten
Thanks for clearing that up, she has the same prominent cheekbones.

Thanks, that’s what I thought. That’s the sort of thin that creates backlash. Having said that, I think Kris is going home tonight.
