“Liltasia!” BWAAhahahaha! Oh, thank you for making me laugh ... what a great name. Let’s hope Liltasia can “liltake” herself home tomorrow night!

I actually feel sorry for Lil. She never *was* that good in the first place, but the judges (for their own unfathomable reasons) treated her like the Second Coming, so now she thinks she is! It must be a big shock to find the judges turning on her. Except that finally, finally, they are right.

OT here ... but I have to ask if anyone is going to a Tea Party tomorrow? There is one here in my town (in NoCal) tomorrow at noon, but I am ambivalent about going. I think for one thing it will be a small turnout and look a little silly (since this town is Blue as Tarantino’s language!) and also I will have to take my toddlers in their twin stroller and that is always a bit of a headache. Mostly, though, I am having a hard time getting worked up over the money thing and the organizers here have asked us to stick to money issues on our signs. (I am FAR more worked up over Constitutional issues!! But for some weird reason that is off limits.)

And I can’t think of a good sign, either. The best thing I can come up with is “A government big enough to give you everything you WANT is big enough to take everything you HAVE,” but that seems long for a sign. Also I’d like to put a sign on my todders’ stroller, but can’t think of a good one.

Wow, rambling way OT here ... but hoping some of my friends on this thread have some good ideas! And maybe some encouragement!

Oh...you’re very welcome...If you ever need to talk..just pm me...if there’s anything I can do to help, any question I might be able to answer, just let me know. I’ve been dealing with it for several years now, of course things are always changing. Thankfully your mother has your help...she is blessed. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for those elderly who aren’t able to help themselves. It’s a wonder how they survive!

Hope you had a wonderful Easter!

Tonight was so screwed up! It gave me a headache.

Same here I could not wait for this show to be over. The songs they picked I was like "Have you lost your freaking mind?" aarrrgggg!!!!! If they want to save time send Kara on vacation until Paula finally passes out live on the air and then she can fill in. And what the heck does QT know about music? Worse mentor to date. He would be better off giving advise to a casting call for a muppet sing along. sigh* As you can tell I hated tonignt. Sorry to be a bummer.

Top Three for me would be Allison, Adam, and Danny. Adam's version not my favorite for that song. But vocally he delivered big time and did some amazing things. I have to give him credit for that. "Born to be Wild", having played and sung it live, is one of those songs you have to put alot of energy into to live up to what Steppenwolf did. I have seen Blue Oyster Cult and The Cult do great versions of it live also.

Bottom three for Matt, Lil, and Kris. I will say Kris is going home. I hate to see it because on two occasions he has shown some real musicianship in reworking songs. But he is turning into a Dave Matthews wannabe which is boring me. Tonight he bored me. Lil should go because she is just a Karaoke Machine nothing there to improve on. Matt what can I say but Whhoooaaa!!! Dude!!!! too many bad notes there. I had to mute him and Lil half way through. I just could not take it anymore. I really liked Matt in the beginning but now I cringe before he sings wondering if it going to good or bad like tonight. I don't know who is advising him but he needs to quit listening to them and he needs to get it together. He is all over the place for me.

I don't think they will use the save for Lil. If they do it will be PC motivated not for the best potential artist motivation.

Lil didn't learn anything from watching Magen get the boot for picking a song she loved instead of one that she could sing and arguing with the judges has just blown by Lil. She doesn't recognize the negative connotations of her actions by talking back to the judges.

As Randy would say “Song Choice People, Song Choice!” It boils down to song choice and delivery.

And tonight for me no one hit a home run. Allison was OK. Adam did some amazing vocals and I mean some really good runs but the arrangement for that song not so great for me. You can up tempo it and stuff like that but you've got to keep the chorus in there the way it is written. It it one of those bridge type things in some songs where there is no better way to do it than to stick to the original. Unless you restructure the whole song to work around it.

Adam.
Period.
Another great performance, a great vocal, and it helps his was the only uptempo rocking song tonight.

I've never posted on this thread before now. But I am compelled, and I must say (homo or no homo) Adam Lambert is the best performer, (other than Carrie Underwood) that this show has ever produced. He's a great vocalist and his performances are compelling. He's superb. Period.

Oh, that is funny!

Reminds me of that classic scene in Five Easy Pieces with Jack Nickolson.

I loved Anoop’s performance, best he’s ever done. Hated Kris’s, Danny’s, Lil’s, Allison’s and Matt’s...they were all so off-key or bland that I almost turned the TV off early.

I thought Adam was ridiculous...way over the top. It was like I was watching a bad satire of a Rocky Horror Picture Show performance.

It was absurd.

And the two judges format...BAD idea! I watch Idol primarily to see what Cowell has to say, he’s one of the few examples in America of one who’ll speak truth, even if about a bunch of amateur singers. It’s refreshing to see verbiage that’s not couched in political correctness or shoddy manipulation.

They should dump Kara...she contributes nothing, and go back to three judges, not two alternating opinions every other singer.

Ed

There are always all these little pine cone “cobs” all over the sidewalk.

Hey! I've always wondered how those cones got that way. When I was a kid I decided some trees just had deformed cones and I've never found a better explanation. You just solved a big "DUH!" for me. Thanks! Squirrels. Wow.

Adding my agreement to kick Kara back off and let all the judges comment. Kara talks far too much. She also seems to LOVE her own words a little TOO much. Last week going over was HER fault.

They named the freakin dog after him? Oh. My. God. I totally didn’t catch that. How sick are these people? I mean, that’s just SICK! How long do you think we have before he decides “infrastructure” money could be used to put a bronze statue of himself in the mall next to the Lincoln Memorial. For the jobs.

Let me encourage you to go to the gathering, take your twins, for their sakes. They are the ones who will be paying for the deficit if we let it stand. If there are only a few people there, all the more reason for you to go. Call a couple of friends and make them go with you. I bet you’ll be surprised at how many people show up. Lots of Dems are as upset as we are about the bailouts and the budget. I bet if you don’t go you’ll wish you had. Here are a couple of signs for you: on the stoller, “WE OWE UNCLE SAM $75K” or “OUR SHARE OF THE 2009 BUDGET DEFICIT - $75,000”. For yourself I’d say your going to have your hands full with the twins. How about wearing your message on your shirt and carrying a camera? I’m wearing my “9/11/01 Never Forget” shirt, my USMC hat, and carrying “FUND NATIONAL DEFENSE, NOT ACORN”.

I think it may have been the 20 something chick he was seen with in Costa Rica .....

Oh. what an idiot he is then! I don’t blame her one bit! I’ve lost all respect for him. I had always hoped he was different than main stream hollywood, but he just isn’t.

I like the song too. I had heard it before tonight, it is MP3 worthy. :) But Kris didn’t give it as much emotion or something was missing from his version. I like Kris though.

Basically I just wish we could drop all the racial nonsense in America. Stop treating Obama special because he’s black. Stop referring to everything he does as historic. I’m just tired of racial divides and exploitations, and I have had it with the liberal media, but I feel the need to call it out when I see it from my side too. I agree! If we are ever going to live up to MLK Jr.'s words of judging by the content of character and not by the color of skin, we would do just that. we would be a better nation and a whole lot kinder if everyone knew that how they behave was what was being judged not how they looked and what entitlement that might bring. Political correctness has run amok and it is killing our country. :)

Pretty good night, on the whole, from the contestants. A lot better than last week's pain-inducing bad song choices, for sure.

Personally, I thought Allison was the only clear winner this week. Most of them were bunched up in the middle, and Matt and Lil' should be the ones packing their bags, just in case.

  1. Allison - Still the only contestant in this group I see with any kind of chance at a significant pop career (Kris is a distant second). She got the "slot of death" but still set a high standard for the night that none of the other contestants were able to match in both singing and performance levels.
  2. Anoop - Geek boy needs to stick with ballads, they are clearly what he does best. He changed it enough to make it his own version, but didn't overdo it. Still looks a bit stiff up there though.
  3. Danny - He was actually slightly better than Anoop, but I'm ranking him lower because it's still the same $@#!ing thing from him. Every. Single. Week.
  4. Adam - Too over-the-top and, to borrow a phrase from Simon's lexicon, over-indulgent. Seriously, enough with the Queen/Billy Idol throwback stuff... how about something contemporary?
  5. Kris - Not a good song choice here. So much of the song is monotonous that I lost interest despite the skill he showed in hitting the upper register notes. He's got the chops, but he needs to find a "wow" performance soon.
  6. Matt - I thought it was a good song choice for him, but he didn't pull it off when it came time to execute it. Despite being an order of magnitude better than Lil' to date, I suspect he's done.
  7. Lil' - Sharp this time for much of the song (keep surrounding that pitch, Lil', and maybe you'll eventually find it!), she sang the second half better, but the "R&B" arrangement she did of it stunk and ruined the song. She'll be saved this week only by Matt's failure to deliver a strong performance.
