Danny Gokey
He chooses Carrie's "Jesus, Take The Wheel."
He struggles horribly in the rehearsals with Travis.
His performance is flat. He finally shows some life when they get to the "Jesus, Take The Wheel" part. Seems more like shouting at times than singing.
Doesn't compare at all with the original.
Kara: When you hit your stride it's like none other. I wish I had ten minutes of that (the second half of the song) instead of the front half.
Paula: [the drugs are kicking in or are they're wearing off--hard to make sense of what she's saying. She likes it, I guess]
Simon: My only problem, Danny, is what you're wearing. [a white winter coat] It's like you're going on a polar expedition. It's 80 degrees in Los Angeles.
Randy: The verses were a little pitchy. Get it together.

As long as it wasn’t all shrunk up. When Simon walked on stage, it looked like he grabbed and old T out of a dryer which had been left on too long and he was on his way to wash the car.
