I'm trying to recall if ever, in any of the previous AI seasons, at the start of the live shows, we've had such an imbalance of males to females...

In season three, the 12 finalists were eight women and four men. Here they are, listed in order from winner Fantasia down to the first of the 12 to be eliminated:

Fantasia Barrino
Diana DeGarmo
Jasmine Trias
LaToya London
George Huff
John Stevens
Jennifer Hudson
Jon Peter Lewis
Camile Velasco
Amy Adams
Matthew Rogers
Leah LaBelle

The finalists in all of the other seasons, except this year's, were evenly split between guys and gals.

I was getting my hair done today and reading a People magazine when I stumbled across an article about the top 13 in AI complete with pictures of them today and as kids. They had a picture of 6 year old Adam and darn if he didn’t have light reddish hair and freckles all over his face! So I guess my daughter’s info was correct...still the pancake makeup he uses is probably to cover his complexion as much as his freckles.

How funny!

A friend of mine has medium brown hair now. He showed me his kindergarten class photo and asked, “Can you find me?” I am totally serious when I say, I couldn’t! Why? Because as a child, he had red hair!

Not saying that is the case with Adam, it just reminded me of that story and how our hair or eyes can go through drastic changes as we age. I had grey eyes for the first 2-3 days of my life then they went brown.

American Idol: Carrie Underwood Draws Negative Reaction From Hunting Groups For Her Support Of The Humane Society

http://www.realitytvmagazine.com/blog/2009/03/18/american-idol-carrie-underwood-draws-negative-reaction-from-hunting-groups-for-her-support-of-the-humane-society/

Last week, season four American Idol winner Carrie Underwood, released her Motley Crue remake of Home Sweet Home which will be played on American Idol each week as a contestant makes their exit. A portion of the proceeds from the downloaded tune will be donated by Carrie Underwood to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).
Hunting groups across the US, especially the US Sportsman’s Alliance (USSA) are enraged by her generosity stating that the Humane Society does not oversee animal shelters, instead it is a radical organization that seeks to end hunting and other responsible uses of animals in America.

The US Sportsman’s Alliance (USSA), has asked that hunters write FOX Broadcasting requesting that American Idol not support the HSUS by using Carrie Underwood’s song.

The Humane Society does not feel that they are an “anti-hunting group” and on their website they state that they “seek a humane and sustainable world for all animals-a world that will also benefit people.”

They do not hide the fact however, that they are opposed to certain types of hunting. They state that they “confront national and global cruelties through major campaigns targeting the barbaric cruelties of…inhumane and unsporting hunting practices.”

Yep :) And I’m finally ...

Caught Up!!
:-D

NOt ME! :) We got back late last night from our trip to Disney World and I haven’t watched Idol or 24 yet, will do today. Then I will come back and check out the thread. We had a great time! There were a few things that bothered me! 1st- We couldn’t go see the Hall of the Presidents, it was closed! They close it every time there is an election with a new president. They have the wax figure made but they have to wait until they have his voice recording and he hasn’t come to do that yet!! The last time I saw the President’s Hall, President Reagan was in office, so I really wanted to see President Bush and W’s figures. 2nd- We went to the Great American Experience show @ Epcot. It was amazing, but..... President George W. Bush was glaringly absent in the film footage at the end. Clinton was in it but not W. And I know they had 9-11 stuff in there, so I know of at least one time they should have had footage! Hello? The megaphone speech at the fallen towers? Of course they didnt’ have Abraham Lincoln in the show either? Which was weird! 3rd- Every instruction given on the rides in English was then translated into Spanish!!! Now, if you’ve been to Disney you know that every single nationality is there! NO kidding, you hear different languages spoken in lines all day. So, if you want to be sure there is equal opportunity, do all the languages or better yet since we are in AMERICA!!! speak the national language only which is ENGLISH!!!! That irritated me for some reason. :) Must be a freeper thang. Hope you had a great week!

Not to mention those incredibly sad and very long commercials with all the injured dogs and cats with Sarah McLaughlin.

I’m not sure how Lambert will queer-up a song about a hetero love affair, but I’m sure he’ll try :(

Just finished watching my tape, and he was HORRIBLE!!!! I cant stand him, and I LOL’ed at Randy Travis’ reaction to him. :) Seriously, I don’t get their hype about him, I wanted to see him gone vs. Alexis. I thought she did pretty well, hated to see her go.

And honestly can’t you be excited about drag queen singing ring of fire?

_____________

Gives the song a whole new meaning.

Like, I fell in a flaming ring of fire? ;)

I was totally blonde. Up until 8th grade and then it turned brown. Now it is a very dark shade of brown, close to black. My eyes turned greener too. Weird.

We did! I forgot to mention that we also went to the American Idol show at the Hollywood theme park. We got to see the 7 finalists who made the cut. It’s on a mini version of the stage of AI. There are 3 judges who give critiques then the audience votes. The winner gets a ticket and will be placed in the front of the lines at a real AI audition next season. The girl who won was from Birmingham, AL! and she was great! I hope to see her next year on the audition rounds. Her name is Shannon Lilly. Big girl with a big voice. She sounded like Wynona Judd.

Not even strawberry flavored gummy bacon?

Ok, look there's no doubt that's eekingly disgusting, however there was a woman at work today eating a bagel with strawberry creme cheese which normally would put me into dry-heave convulsions, but she was so very "hot" even I, who digestively reverses gears at anything strawberry, had not even the slightest swill back-up!

So, I guess it depends on the bacon factor situation which puts me into the characteristic mode.

Whatever happened with AI that they chucked him and gave him zero mktg on the first CD? With a new label, the guy still has poor mgmt and mktg. Who knew he had a CD releasing? At some point the buck has to stop at TH and poor judgement. Sad.

To: I'm ALL Right!

It has NOTHING to do with marketing and everything to do with TH genre. It’s just not that popular. I love the guys voice, but using it to sing that tired ole bluesy sway in pop radio doesn’t work any more.

Hi,EG :)

Sounds like you had a great time in Disney World. It also sounds like their going out of their way to snub President Bush. And no Lincoln either?

If Obama was standing beside his own wax dummy, I probably couldn't tell them apart :)
