.
Those are really nice, but, I like the Queen Anne’s Lace the best. jmo Flowers make for great shots with all their colors, and textures.
I’m inclined to agree with you. As nice as that picture is, and as much as I like Jack Sparrow, there is something missing. The picture seems to have no depth, it lacks what I think of as ‘the soul of the artist’, that makes it appear ready to come to life, like so many of your sketches and paintings have. jmo, I’m no expert, I just know what I like.
CRY her a river.
Ashley Ferl, aka "Crying Girl" from "American Idol," didn't make it past the first round of "Idol" auditions in California last week.
Ferl, whose uncontrollable, histrionic weeping over Sanjaya Malakar on Season 6 of "Idol" won her national acclaim, tried out for the show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. and was one of the first in line.
But she was sent home and her hopes dashed, according to "Access Hollywood."
Ferl was 13 during Malakar's run, but turned 16 this year, making her eligible to appear on her favorite TV show.
No word on whether she left Pasadena in tears.
Carrie Underwood prepares new album

Carrie Underwood is preparing her latest record for an autumn release, it has been announced.
The as-yet-untitled LP’s first single will be released this summer and will mark the third disc that she has recorded since winning the fourth season of American Idol in 2005, TV Guide reports.
The country singer is collaborating with producer Mark Bright, who also worked on her first two albums, Some Hearts and Carnival Ride, which have sold over ten million copies combined.
In April, Underwood became the first female since 2001 to win the ACM entertainer of the year award at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Journey ends for ‘No Boundaries’
If there was one uneven note in this week’s tour debut, it was the same one that caused a fair amount of choppiness at the end of the Season 8 competition. In each year’s Idols Live tour, the winner’s song has been a fixture of the champion’s set. In recent years Jordin Sparks and David Cook scored noticeable blips on the sales charts with “This is My Now” and “Time of My Life,” respectively, and rolled out those numbers on the road.
However, in Kris Allen’s headline at the concerts thus far, the season’s victory song, “No Boundaries,” written by judge Kara DioGuardi, has stood out as a bit of an odd duck among the other numbers, which were uniquely chosen for and crafted to Allen’s intimate, soulful style.
Reviews of Season 8’s finale show widely trashed the victory number and the chilly reception has followed “Boundaries” onto the road. In reviews of the tour, “Boundaries” has been singled out as a misstep, generating a tepid crowd response compared with the other numbers.
The tour’s producers have been listening to the sound of few hands clapping. Starting tonight in Sacramento, “No Boundaries” will be disappear from Allen’s set, according to sources with the production.
Journey ends for Kara’s song. Let’s hope that puts and end to her writing the finale songs.
Addendum to last post
According to reports, at Sacramento show, Allen introduced an unexpected contemporary, singing “All These Things That I’ve Done” by The Killers.
Thank you!
Flowers make great models. You never have to ask a flower to give you more or stop holing back. LOL
Very true. Now, if my vegetable garden would stop holding back! lol
‘American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest inks $45 million deal; may be richest contract ever for reality host
Seacrest in. Big-time.
Ryan Seacrest has signed a three-year deal worth some $45 million to stay host of “American Idol.”
The new deal with 19 Entertainment will pay him $15 million a year, The Hollywood Reporter said.
That’s a huge raise - up from $5 million a season.
“Very excited about locking in a deal to host ‘Idol’ for this season and the following 2,” Seacrest wrote on Twitter.
Seacrest is the first piece of the “Idol” contract puzzle to come together, and his signing could be the start of a string of new deals.
For weeks, there’s been speculation about judge Simon Cowell’s role with the top-rated singing competition show after he said he may leave when his deal expires after the current season.
Cowell is considered the linchpin of the show, so Fox and “Idol” producers are keen to keep him.
Cowell shot down reports that he had signed a $144 million-a-year contract to stay but did confirm that talks are under way.
“I wish. Come off it. It’s absolute nonsense. ... Crazy, crazy nonsense,” he said Monday on “Extra.”
“Speculation. Not true. Nothing . There hasn’t been a deal done,” Cowell added.
“We’re talking to Fox. We have a very good relationship with them,” he added - but that still left the door open to his not returning.
“We’ll see ,” Cowell said. “We are having conversations.”
As for Seacrest, the deal announced Monday also includes provisions for his own production company to work with “American Idol” creator Simon Fuller on new projects.
“I’m truly appreciative of being part of a show that has had such an enormous impact on popular culture across all ages,” Seacrest said.
“Ryan is without a doubt one of American television’s most talented stars,” Fuller said.
Besides “Idol,” Seacrest also has a radio show in Los Angeles and is host of ABC’s annual “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” special.
“Idol” judge Paula Abdul, whose deal expired at the end of last season, recently said she had been invited to stay with the show, provided they could come to terms.
New judge Kara DioGuardi has said she wants to return, too.
Seacrest seems confident they’ll all be back - including judge Randy Jackson.
“Lots of conversations going on behind the scenes, but I fully expect you will see the whole team next year,” he tweeted.
Seacrest is back, Randy is in til 2011, so that leaves Paula, Simon and Kara.
Some people don’t have the brains they were born with.
Dog dies in car while ‘Idol’ hopeful performs
A small terrier died in a hot car while its owner’s girlfriend waited in a long line to audition for “American Idol” at nearby Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium.
Quincy Vanderbilt, 24, was served Tuesday with a misdemeanor summons for animal cruelty, said Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for the Denver district attorney’s office.
Vanderbilt drove his girlfriend from North Dakota to Denver so she could audition for “American Idol,” Kimbrough said.
He left the dog in the car with the windows rolled up early in the morning, she said. Temperatures Tuesday reached 90 degrees, and his car was parked on asphalt, she said.
Vanderbilt was supposed to check on the dog periodically, but he failed to do so, Kimbrough said.
By the time he did check on the terrier at 2 p.m., it had died, she said.
Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said temperatures soar in a car with its windows rolled up in the summer. “It’s extremely dangerous.”
Denver Animal Care and Control officials say that it takes only minutes for a pet left in a vehicle on a warm day to succumb to heatstroke and suffocation.
On a 78-degree day, for example, temperatures in a car parked in the shade can exceed 90 degrees and hit a scorching 160 degrees if parked in the sun.
“We’ve had a fairly mild summer so far,” Kimbrough said. “But temperatures are heating up. Clearly, it’s a danger to people as well, especially young children.”
Brit star turns down Idol gig

British singer Cheryle Cole has reportedly turned down a $6 million offer to replace Paula Abdul as a judge on American Idol.
The Girls Aloud star became a TV favourite in her native Britain after taking over from rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne on U.K. talent contest The X Factor last year.
Reports suggest music mogul Simon Cowell has now offered the 26 year old a stint alongside him on the U.S. version of the show.
But Cole, who is currently in Los Angeles, has decided against the move because she wants to stay in Britain with her soccer star husband, Ashley Cole.
A friend of the singer tells Britain’s Daily Express, “Cheryl hasn’t had any TV meetings since she’s been over there. It would mean she would have to leave Britain. She wouldn’t leave Ashley behind. She’s there to work on her new album. She only wants to focus on her music.”
Abdul’s future on American Idol was thrown into doubt last week when her manager, David Sonenberg, told the Los Angeles Times it’s unlikely she will return for the show’s 2010 run.
Well good. One Brit is enough. America’s Got Talent has Peirs Morgan and Sharon Osborne. Why can’t America have American judges?
LOL!!
It's good to see you, Net. I hope you're having a nice summer.
I thought Ferlie would have at least made it to the judges' audition--it would have been good for some laughs at least :)
They're really playing hardball, aren't they? I don't think they've ever gone this far and "suggested" they're interviewing replacements for Paula.
Yeah you’d think they would have milked that for all they could. Have Ferle in front of the judges and maybe have Sanjaya appear. They keep saying she was crying over Sanjaya but if I recall, she had been in a different studio prior to AI and was crying there.
Back to lurking mode.
Ex-'Idol' contestant struck, killed by car in NJ
SEASIDE HEIGHTS, N.J. Authorities say a 25-year-old former two-time "American Idol" contestant has been struck and killed by a car in a New Jersey shore town.
The Asbury Park Press reports that Alexis Cohen, of Allentown, Pa., was killed early Saturday in Seaside Heights.
Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutors Office says an autopsy indicated she suffered chest, head and abdominal injuries. Mohel says investigators are seeking more information about the collision.
Cohen auditioned in Philadelphia for the popular Fox singing competition in August 2007, and the episode was aired in January 2008. She tried out again during the show's eighth season.
A video of her angry rant after being rejected by judges went viral on the Internet.
Wow. Very sad. I’ll always remember her foul mouth. Or at least the AI label over it.
Poor thing...how sad.
