In this post you sound like an echo of Obama-—to quote him-—If one of his girls make a mistake, he doesn’t think she should be “punished” with a baby.
Jean, you seem to know quite a bit more about the real facts regarding condoms and birth control pills. Thanks.
I was a counselor in Natural Family Planning for many years
and to be certificated we had to know a lot about all forms of artificial contraceptives. What’s more, we had to know a considerable amount human fertility—male and female.
Sudeten—you are very cavalier in your seminar approach to how to avoid accidental pregnancies. What is missing is all the important data about the contraindications and/or lack of effectiveness of various forms of contraceptives.
The way the full spectrum birth control pilll works not only can have some sobering side effects on the female body, but also can act —in full spectrum— as an early, silent abortifacient. That also has a negative side effect on the female body. There are also possible consequences for the baby that is conceived while the mother is taking the pill. For some reason, this is rarely made known.
Also, there are psychological consequences with the use of artificial contraceptives that people using and promoting them rarely fail to disclose or address realistically.
You have presented statistics on this thread. I could present hands-on anecdotal experience. I tend to place more value on my experience of many years than on the cold statistics.
“Adults are supposed to exercise a little self-control and responsibility”. I can assure you that using NFP is an exercise in both.
Since “accidents” can happen under any circumstance, the only proper response is to welcome and love that child.
You come across as a self-righteous, finger-pointing, intrusive and judgmental person...the kind that is always seeing what everyone else is doing wrong.
I’m a conservative myself and you don’t represent me or my core values in any way. And I would not resort to calling Bristol Palin a “tramp” as you have.
"In this post you sound like an echo of Obama-to quote him-If one of his girls make a mistake, he doesnt think she should be punished with a baby.Strawman argument never said anything about "punished;"the question here is about parental responsibility (Sarah's) and judgment (again Sarah's). Either her family is very unlucky or she was negligent in one or both cases.
"Sudetenyou are very cavalier in your seminar approach to how to avoid accidental pregnancies. What is missing is all the important data about the contraindications and/or lack of effectiveness of various forms of contraceptives."Abstinence does remain a 100% effective tool to prevent unwanted pregnancy. While it is true about the possible side effects of the pill, they have proven in a vast majority of cases to be safe and effective.
"Since accidents can happen under any circumstance, the only proper response is to welcome and love that child."Another strawman argument...never said otherwise. Yes accidents happen and if they do, you make the best of it and raise the child with all the love and care it deserves, but they remain the exception; not the rule.

The fact remains if you claim to be a Conservative, then you must condemn immoral behavior.
