"In this post you sound like an echo of Obama-—to quote him-—If one of his girls make a mistake, he doesn’t think she should be “punished” with a baby.
Strawman argument never said anything about "punished;"the question here is about parental responsibility (Sarah's) and judgment (again Sarah's). Either her family is very unlucky or she was negligent in one or both cases.
"Sudeten—you are very cavalier in your seminar approach to how to avoid accidental pregnancies. What is missing is all the important data about the contraindications and/or lack of effectiveness of various forms of contraceptives."
Abstinence does remain a 100% effective tool to prevent unwanted pregnancy. While it is true about the possible side effects of the pill, they have proven in a vast majority of cases to be safe and effective.
"Since “accidents” can happen under any circumstance, the only proper response is to welcome and love that child."
Another strawman argument...never said otherwise. Yes accidents happen and if they do, you make the best of it and raise the child with all the love and care it deserves, but they remain the exception; not the rule.
"You come across as a self-righteous, finger-pointing, intrusive and judgmental person...the kind that is always seeing what everyone else is doing wrong. I’m a conservative myself and you don’t represent me or my core values in any way. And I would not resort to calling Bristol Palin a “tramp” as you have."
That's your opinion and you are welcome to it. The fact remains if you claim to be a Conservative, then you must condemn immoral behavior.

Conservatism is not a cult of personality, it is a set of political and moral principles which we claim to support. No individual is greater than the ideal...hopefully we leave that to the Left and Obama. We Conservatives are supposed to judge candidates based on the philosophy they espouse and the example they set in living up to those principles. No one is perfect, but I don't believe that Sarah Palin is a good representative for those ideals. What kind of example does it set for America's children for the daughter of the President (should she get elected in 2012) to have been an un-wed mother?

My devotion is to a set of principles, not to Sarah Palin. The reaction of those who have so aggressively attacked me speaks of a cult of personality, not of Conservatism. It speaks of emotionally driven opinion, not of reasoned discourse. It is more suited to Liberal politics than Conservatism.

I never once said I was for or against Sarah Palin.

I have addressed only the issue of the over-arching claims you made about women over 40 having children and your over-arching condemnation of an 18-year old girl and her mother.

Your assumption that I addressed it from a political approach is your own version of a straw man.
