Sarah Palin’s teenage daughter angrily denounced reports today that she was to blame for breaking up with the father of her two-month-old son.
Bristol Palin, the daughter of last year’s controversial Republican vice-presidential candidate, responded after it emerged that she and her fiancé, Levi Johnston, had split up.
The story first emerged in the tabloid Star magazine, which quoted Mr Johnston’s sister Mercedes saying that Ms Palin and her mother were to blame for the break-up. The couple had been due to marry this summer.
“Levi tries to see Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible,” Mercedes Johnston is quoted as saying.
“She tells him he can’t take the baby to our house because she doesn’t want him around ‘white trash’. The worst part, Ms Johnston tells the magazine, is that Governor Palin supports her daughter’s treatment of Mr Johnston.
Ms Palin said in a statement issued through her mother’s political action committee that she was devastated by the report in Star. “Unfortunately, my family has seen many people say and do things to ‘cash in’ on the Palin name. Sometimes that greed clouds good judgment and the truth.”

Um—not sure of the “logic” here—Sarah Palin’s child has a child out of wedlock and it’s Sarah Palin’s fault? Do you actually HAVE children? You do the best you can, you teach them the values you believe and then hope to God they follow them...
It is a tragedy the amount of teen, un-wed parents that are in this country, but by placing the blame on the PARENTS rather than the teens you are playing the liberal game of blaming the wrong people. And no, as a conservative I would NOT be calling for Palin’s head had she been a dim....and I’m not sure that having a teenager who doesn’t do everything you expect of them is “poor judgment”. It’s more like-—”reality”. It’s not a good reality, but teens not listening to their parents goes back to...I dunno, Cain and Abel??

What Bristol Palin did once she reached an adult state in which she is responsible for her behavior is not something you, as a self-righteous politicaql hack, can legitimately blame on Sarah Palin! When Bristol chose to become sexually active, she became responsible for her own actions. Your effort to politically cripple Sarah Palin because her daughter made a mistake in becoming sexually active before marriage is very transparent. What prigs like you fail to see is the work Sarah Palin is doing with her daughter, with the proper maintenance of the pregnancy in which an innocent new life is at stake, and Sarah's work to direct and cajole and teach her daughter now that this massive responsibility is in her lap, literally.
