Brian Vike snapped this photo of what he believes is a sasquatch footprint in Moricetown, B.C. Photograph by: Brian Vike, For the Province

The Houston, B.C.-based UFO researcher has developed a soft spot for the mythical furry creatures, and got an excited call last Sunday from the remote community of Moricetown.

“I made the 90-minute drive up there, and I was amazed at what I saw,” Vike told The Province. “I’ve been on some of those turkey runs, when there’s nothing to see.

“But there were footprints, 17-and-a-half inches in length, that went on for a long ways.

“The stride is three feet six inches from the front of the foot to the back of the heel.”

More tellingly for Vike, the snow around the prints was untouched.

“There were no tracks around to show that somebody was trying to pull a gag.”

Vike, who tracks UFO sightings, got even more excited when he found blood in one of the prints.

“I’m sending it off for testing in Saskatchewan and Ohio. We also have a hair sample.”

Sasquatches are allegedly ape-like beings that apparently are quite shy, since they don’t seem to interact with humans much.

Like the yeti and the ogopogo, sightings are frequently reported, but no conclusive proof of their existence has ever been found.

On the other hand, conclusive proof that they do not exist does not exist.

They may be very good at hiding when they're alive, but if they exist, surely one corpse-- or even one bone-- would have been found somewhere?

Hmmm..., where’s the ruler in the picture, or a pencil or a cel phone, for size?

Besides, the print looks a bit funny. I would like to see the whole series, a long line of prints, at least.

What is that, three toes or what?

Some people accept far less evidence than this as proof of a 6000 year old earth.

If they did exist, seems to me that Boone & Crockett would have a scoring method for them. Just sayin’.

A persons got to be nuts to buy this. Now, I have seen mermaids, but it’s tough to get a photo of one of those wonderful creatures.

But then, I am still trying to figure out things about God. I mean, why on earth would he have cursed this planet by creating democrats? I could have understood creating a couple hundred of them, as slaves, for cleaning out our zoo’s, but they have no other useful value.

Brian Vike believes he has photographic evidence that sasquatches exist.

If I was out squatching, I would be a little embarrassed to publish that photo on its own. There are a number of things that could make an impression in the snow, the most obvious is a bear with the hind foot stepping onto the print of the front foot. And yes bears are sometimes seen roaming in the winter. Another thing that happens is clumps of snow falling from tree limbs makes a nice impression where they hit. You also have snow that warms and cools, making smaller prints expand as they become older.
Now if this guy would of took photos of the series, he did say there were more, and measure toes to heel to make sure they were consistent, and then see if he could find one showing more detail for a close up, then he may have something. But this?
