First, welcome to the homebrewers ping list.
Yeah, I have 3 batches going, but I do have a good excuse. The state fair is coming this summer and the hotly contested homebrew competition is a part of it. I fully intend to take home at least a few medals. Since I am entering 4 brews, I needed to have them ready and at their peak when judging comes in late May. Thats why I am brewing now.
Also, it get very hot here in Sacto in the summer. When it is 105 degrees, the last thing I want to do is stand around a 150,000 BTU burner for a few hours. I much prefer brewing in the winter then stashing away the kegged and carbonated beer so I can just pull off a keg and put it on tap.
Well, that and the fact that my friends drink like fish is why I have so much on hand.
I am actually making an additional 25 gallons in the next few weeks for future consumption.
Did I mention I like beer?
