There have been a lot of pages published about such things.
I would suspect that it would depend on the . . . sophistication and degree of advancement of the technology producing the ionization etc. etc. etc.
My assumptions are that the public textbooks that might apply are decades out of date.
It is not a matter of being a physicist. Stanton Friedman is not a compressible flow guy. He loves theoretical and he loves UFOs. Just because you want to do mind experiments about how something “might” occur when there is NO evidence that it can occur is good for R&D dollars but little else. Even returning craft to the earth’s atmosphere follow the rules of compressible flow ( mach cones, Fanning heating etc). Why be looking for zebras when you are being runover by horses?
