American Idol contestant disqualified
LOS ANGELES One of the contestants on "American Idol" who made the top 36 has been disqualified.
"American Idol" has issued a statement saying Joanna Pacitti of Philadelphia is ineligible to continue, but without saying why. Felicia Barton of Virginia Beach, Va., has replaced Pacitti in the top 36.

As far as I understand it, Carly was the big one last year that some fans objected to mainly because there was a video on youtube. The show bills itself as turning a “nobody” into a “somebody” and it’s a bit of a scam if you have a professionally produced video on youtube.
And again is this a show turning the girl next door in nowheresville U.S.A. into a star or a vehicle to get 19 Management’s stable of talent more exposure and practice infront of a live audience? I don’t doubt 19 entertainment put her there on purpose and only pulled her when there was too much negative publicity.
I thought her experience was mentioned at the audition? How did she get this far?
They should be consistent and change the rule to "never had a recording contract". It's supposed to be about finding undiscovered talent.
The show’s getting rid of a contestant who does not qualify proves that the show is rigged??!! Huh?
Not guilty.
It isn't just about "finding" talent, it is also about marketing several singers for a whole season. They don't "suddenly" become famous when the season is over, they've already been test marketed for months.
Can anyone find a picture of Barton.
That's probably true, but I'm not really unhappy about that. I don't mean to sound elitist here, but I would rather have fewer voters than more. Why? It's a bell curve kind of a thing: the uninformed, the uneducated, and the flight-by-night voter join forces and by sheer number they become the tyrant majority.
And what do we get by this dynamic? The politics of populism in the form of Obama and socialism.
And Democrats understand this dynamic very well too...
Damn.....she will be missed....I don’t even care if she can sing....
That’s true, finding the talent AND pre-marketing the talent, all at a profit. Pretty impressive really to take two of the mroe expensive parts of starting a new act and making them profitable in their own right.

FYI..see the pic in post #2...you gotta grab it..(g)
If this is the same girl I saw during auditions then not only did she not hide it but the new judge recognized her and asked about her label!
You aren’t kidding. My daughter was on Nashville Star last season (and I really mean THE last season) and it was indeed rigged. They didn’t have a “heartthrob” from the male contestants so they brought one in that didn’t even have to go through the auditioning process. Who was he? Jason Gaston, as in Miley Cyrus’ boyfriend.
But you forget that when voting for American Idol, you are able cast votes multiple times for your candi..... ah....
FYI..see the pic in # 2 this thread
I have to agree with you. I am on the phone now trying to talk to the so called leaders of our so called democracy. I also watched American Idol so I don’t blow my brains out for how much I hate the government and that stinken field mouse they are spending millions of dollars on. I stay informed but if I don’t watch something else I will go completely insane.
She was in bed with the producers. Whether literally or figuratively, I do notknow.
