Just When You Think It Has Reached Lunacy Level :
(3% tax on soap, toilet paper, cooking oil)
A bipartisan group of lawmakers is proposing to raise about $10 billion a year to fix aging water and sewer systems by taxing the biggest users.
The legislation, which has sparked significant opposition from industry, is expected to be unveiled Wednesday at a news conference on Capitol Hill.
The bill calls for a 0.15% tax on any corporation earning a profit of more than $4 million a year. Manufacturers of any water-based beverages, excluding alcohol, would see a four-cent tax per container. Soaps, detergents, toiletries, toilet tissue, water softeners and cooking oils would face a 3% tax on wholesale prices. Pharmaceuticals would be taxed at 0.5% of the wholesale price.

Makes me think of the cigarette taxes, Jerry Doyle on the radio started a campaign last year “for the children”, for when the gov outlawed and put extra taxes on the cigarettes, it killed the funds coming in for the children.....
Jerry said he would keep smoking so the kids could have the tax.
The new tax, we can beat by not buying the products.
A nation of smelly folks with no soap for bathing.
A nation of stopped up toilets, for they do not handle sears catalogs and the rags being used in place of the tp.
The tax on the oil, now that is a problem, cut off the french fries and this country will really go to ‘tilt’.
So teach them to eat boiled potatoes.
Let them keep adding the taxes, soon we will be naked and walking, only set back 50,000 years by the democrats.
