Granny, in the post above, Jackie says you can make ice cream from goat milk. Do you know if it’s as rich as half-and-half? My hubby is a terrific ice cream maker but he insists on half-and-half to get the nice consistency. It would be really cool if I could find organic unpasteurized goat milk locally. Thanks.

I don’t know, would not expect it to have as much fat content.

Yes, to goat’s milk ice cream, it will be excellent and if you can get good goat’s milk, it will spoil you.

It can be as simple as “ripe fruit in blender, dash of salt, goat milk, blend, add dash of sugar or Karo syrup if needed and freeze.

I could never get my mind to accept raw eggs in ice cream and will not make it with them.

It will be richer than regular milk and of course far better than the chemical laden water they sell today and call milk.

When I had goats, I did not drink soft drinks, I had milk shakes, for my lunch box at work, I used a quart jar and filled it part way with goat milk, added cocoa mix and shook, then added ice cubes and shook before drinking.

Or a dash of good flavor jello to the milk and blend, then pour over ice, sure tastes to me like a ‘strawberry shake’.
