Can you recommend a hand mill? I have seen several but don’t know which one to get.
I’m also interested in getting a hand mill, so will be anxious to hear what responses you get back.

Hmmm, can you give us a bit more info on what uses you have in mind?
Cake flour, corn meal, nuts, herbs?
There are two basic types of hand grinders - stone and burr. The stones give you a finer grind, but are harder to turn. The burrs are easier to turn, but generally give you a coarser grind.
The quantity you will be using will also determine which mill would be better.
There is a wealth of information available at Walton Feed.

(LOL they got me pegged - Old-self... :^)
JDoutrider (a thread participant) should be giving us a first hand on the one he just got. I have a Corona burr mill which is great for corn meal and cracked wheat bread (if I grind it twice) and I do a lot of my whole wheat flour, rye flour, bean flour and rice flour in a blender - which works pretty good unless you want cake flour.

Several of the thread readers went with the one at Walton’s, I did not buy one, but do shop there for all my dried and bagged food products, they have been wonderful to me over the years.
