“Welcome to the thread... We have at least one other in the process of making the big move... (Heading for his Gulch)”
Thank-you. I appreciate the warm welcome. (proof I was right about this thread :) Yes, after 35 years “up North”, we’re heading for the family farm in my beloved hills and the kind of “community” described in the “Alabama” song, “Down Home”. :)
“Several are looking for places and others are able to hunker in place.”
Good luck to those looking and congratulations to those that are already there. :)
“Dont hesitate to add in - or throw out questions - You will find Granny has a real hospitable place...”
Will do as time permits. I’m looking forward to “learning” because although I was “born country” and we’ve been living a rural life for nearly 30 years, we’re stil learning. :)
“Again, glad you found us. (Oh, did you notice - This is thread # 2 first 10,000 posts address is at the beginning of this one. :^)”
17 odd thousand posts? Yep, that ought to keep me busy for awhile. :)
>>>weve been living a rural life for nearly 30 years, were stil learning. :)<<<
LOL - The smart people are ALWAYS learning something!
Three generations plus 2 have lived on this land, and you get to know it pretty well, but still learn something every day. Also try a little something different every chance I get to see how it works... Some work - some are big flops... LOL
Some of mine - like my strawberry towers (pictures posted earlier) worked well (except for our danged goat), and others like using my hybrid poplars as live poles for my pole limas was a flop.
But, I keep trying things... (keeps one young)
I have the first 9000 posts of thread #1 in two word files. Now that you guys have found us (or we have found you, LOL), I think I will upload them to YouSendIt and Appleseed can ping his list to the YouSendIt link.
I’m so glad to see you all!!
