My recommendation is, obviously, just an opinion but I think the most logical. I buy 3 different categories.

1. 90% silver "junk" silver. (i.e. U.S. dimes, quarters and halves struck prior to 1965)
They are small demoninations and universally recognized.

2. Generic 'rounds' in the one ounce size. Also a somewhat small denomination. Easily useable as barter should things come to that.

3. 10 ounce bars. (more compact yet still not as unwieldy in trade as one ounce of gold, yet large enough for 'investment' size after the inevitable price jump)

All of the above are priced very close to spot (low premium) . Numismatic value is a no-no IMHO unless you are a true collector and have survival bases covered.

Just my thoughts. OH ! And always take physical delivery. Don't trust paper silver. There are still a lot of 'leasing' shennanigans going on.

I figured that, except for perhaps in the beginning of all the crap while people are learning about gold and silver. I thought I'd sell the ASEs on ebay - they're fetching $20 each and selling like crazy. Then I could get more generics and I guess some bars. EXCEPT that spot is now over $3 higher than when I last bought anything! The dollar must be taking a kicking.
