Whenever people would ask where I was from and I would tell them Delaware, they almost universally came back with - Where’s that? or Oh, that’s up there in New England isn’t it?
So I kinda short circuited the thing and used DelaWhere - But, now I get Hi Dela... Can’t win... LOL
A few of us know where it is, just east of Maryland, northeast of Virginia. It’s a very pretty place. I drove through Maryland one time from Arlington VA in September. I lived in Phoenix at the time, and it was delightful to see the lush green farms and hills. Gorgeous!
We have the same “where in the world is...” syndrome here in Fresno. SoCal people say, “Isn’t that in northern California, near the Bay Area?” LOL. Look at a map sometime!
