Many years ago when I had to produce written proposals that had to have the approval of a couple of Military officers before we could implement them, I had a boss who operated on the theory that you take a ‘perfect’ proposal, then build in a couple of ‘mistakes’ - simple ones that even the least adept person would find immediately.
When the first one would ‘find’ that first error, we would agree to an immediate correction - he would then approve it for it was part ‘his proposal’ Then on to the second who would find the other ‘error’.
His success rate was well over 90% approvals when others were running about 30%.
LOL I have 600 page technical manuals to publish soon, maybe I’ll do that. Make it small and obvious on one of the first few pages. If I can get the programmers to stop making changes to the live system without telling me!
