I believe the udder or breast or teat is composed of mammary glands which branch out like roots of a tree. <<<

The inside of the udder looked like a brain does, whirls of tissue, I did not dissect it to see how the individual teats were.

What I don’t know, is “how is milk made and where?

Is it made in the udder? Or only stored there?

I know if you do not milk on time, they start to absorb it back into their systems.

If you quit milking them, they will stop producing milk.

They will also get sore and ache, if they were a heavy producer.

They think the milk is made in the mammary glands and stored in the sac near the teat.
